i really want a new tattoo but dont know what kind or where

i want to get a tattoo but i still have not figured out what or where i want it to be any help would be agreatly appreciated please give me ideas let me know

It is really hard for others to help you out since it is your body and it is a permanent choice.  But sometimes what you want kind of slims down the options of where to put it and vice versa.  What are some things you are passionate about?  Tattoos can be anything, words, poem, face, picture, art, etc.  It doesn't have to be butterflies or "tribal" tattoos.  So think about stuff you are very passionate about and really like.  I have two tattoos that a friend drew for me.  They are dark, one is a little X rated, and they are very cool (I think so), and I love them because I know I am the only one with them and always will be.  I have some others that I got from the books out of a tattoo shop because I liked them, and i have some Chinese which was my first tattoo that says something that is important to me.  So really it is up to you.  Try to go for something original.  Many artists will take the time to draw you something up (though usually for a fee) and work with you on what you want to make it yours, or you can find someone who draws and they might make you something so you can have an original piece.  Good luck!

a butterfly on your shoulder or some swirly
stars above your crack is just really not
appealing and terribly trite, in my opinion.

I have eleven tattoos. I have tattoos on my upper back, two on my right arm, two on my lower back, two on right thigh, my right ankle, my left lower leg, my neck, and my left thigh. I want to get one on my side but I'm working on toning back up.  My tattoos range from roses, names, dragons, butterflies, a tribal, and a snake.  I like tattoos and I just look at different pictures that I like and go from there.  Good Luck on whatever you decide to get!

Me too.  I already have one and it has a spiritual meaning to me.  I've been wanting to get another one for years but I don't know exactly where or what.  I have a scar on my leg that I got from a bicycle accident a few years ago and I want to get a tattoo to cover it up.  I was thinking of Winnie the Pooh because I love Winnie but I don't know what.  Now I just use temporary tattoos to cover it up.  But now that it's cold and I don't wear shorts any more I don't cover it up but I'd still like something permanent to cover it.

I got a tattoo on my lower back FOR my husband...he always thought I should have one.   So for his 50th birthday, I gave him his wish.  He and I chose the rose together and tada--I now have a tattoo.

Google pictures of tattoos, that will give you ideas as you set at home. You can also sketch what you want and most parlors can replicate your sketch so it looks 100 times better!!

I agree. google it. Youll be able to find something that suits you, and based on the size you want, youll know where to put it...
Or, search around your area for all tattoo shops, thier ratings, and go to them and see that they can do.

If I ever got a Tattoo I would get my favorite sports team logo, the Tampa Bay Lightning however I'm afraid that they will relocate or change there logo so I'm not getting one.

My first tattoo was a special one to me.  I got my son's name in a heart with a rose on each side of it.  one purple and one blue(He got killed in a car accident 2 years ago.  My favorite color is purple, so i got one purple rose and then his favorite color was blue, so the other rose is blue.  i want a couple more, but havent got the money for anymore yet.  my next one is gonna be a pr of cowboy boots with a rope wrapped around it and a cowboy hat on top of the boots.  (My husband is a cowboy and dresses like one all the time.)  then i want one of all my kids names on a rose bush.
