Just Thinking
« on: November 08, 2009, 05:52:36 am »
Anybody got any advice? This is the first Thanksgiving since my Dear Mother passed away. I just can't seem to get in the holiday mood. I have two kids who are used to seeing me happy most of the time. Now I seem to be sad all the time. I don't even want to decorate this year. Just need to talk. Thank you for letting me.

People put too much pressure on themselves about the holidays.  I look at it as just another day.  I'm sorry about your loss.  My father died about 11 years ago he wasn't much on holidays.  When I think of him I am never sad because I think about what a great father he was to me.  He was such a character.  And I am grateful to have had him as my father.

Do you think your mother would want you to be sad or would she want you to celebrate the time you had her her on earth?  Of course you are sad and miss her that's understandable.  You have a lot to be grateful for.  A lot of people never had a mother to have any memories of.  Be grateful you had a mother that you have wonderful memories of and use that to help you to celebrate with your children so they can have great memories of you
