I loved Literature and home Economics.

In High School it was Vocational Machine Shop that I had for 3 hours a day until I graduated in 1957. That became my first job and I pursued it as a career until I owned my own Tool and Die shop. I sold out in 1980 to open a computer consulting business that I owned the rest of my working life.

My favorite subjects were all of my business courses such as typing, shorthand and business communications.  My least favorite was anything dealing with science.

I didn't like school at all. And now I really regret it. We had good English teachers, and now I need to look for tutors, as well as various courses. However, I can recommend the excellent speaking class from here. I find my speaking skill particularly lacking, so I look forward to improving it soon. I hope that I'll succeed in it.

PE, that's for sure. I used to be pretty bad at science, and I was definitely the worst at math. I can say that now I regret not studying hard in the past because my son also struggles with math at school, and I even had to turn to brighterly math for my son to study with a math tutor that would have a personalized approach and provide entertaining classes. At least, he actually enjoys the lessons with his tutor, and I doubt I'd be able to provide the same experience to my son if I were to teach him.

English and Grammer, both English and Spanish. I think I have a knack for it. Not that it's helped me at all since there are so many online helps now. I loved diagraming sentences (we're few and far between). Not that that helped me in life either. Can't say that it has. Maybe it's a sort of silent helper.

And whatever Ven Diagrams are I hate them because K.H. (our wishy-washy V.P.) loves them so dern much.  Get over it.

They stopped having vocational training at the high school in our town before my youngest got there. What a tragedy! I'm glad you got a good start that way.

Thanks for your comment and you are right. I did not have a dad to follow, so I was glad my Machine Shop teacher gave me some real support (not that any of my 5 sons followed me). Our high school still has auto shop, metal shop and agriculture programs, but I have not seen a full blown machine shop like my High School had.
