How many of you can actually sleep at night? I can not sleep and my Doctor had to put me on Sleeping pills.

While I had Covid-19 and Pneumonia I slept both day and night, but it made me feel better.

Most nights I toss and turn and wake up occasionally to go to the bathroom.  The last couple of nights I have had to take Tylenol PM for pain and have sleep pretty good.

My sleep is all over the place. After my son died, I found it hard to fall asleep. Or I would want to sleep too much. Thankfully I work at home so my schedule can be flexible.

I don't think there is a "Too Much" for sleep. It all helps your body heal itself from whatever ills it may have.

that might be true in a physical sense, but Wanting to sleep too much is actually an indication of depression. It is better to get up and do something productive even if I am too tired to care.

I take Melatonin gummies if I can't sleep.

But I try not to worry about not sleeping before I go to bed, because if I do, it's the kiss of death for a good night's sleep.  :P

Of course, make sure you're sleepy before you hit the sheets. Drink a warm milk, take a nice relaxing bath or read a boring book and/or make sure you've worn yourself out enough to be tired enough to sleep. Don't get in bed if you're totally not sleepy.  :silly: You can also pray for a good night's sleep if you're so inclined.

All good ideas. I usually try to read and not look at a screen before bed. I also drink a bit of Pepsi because caffeine helps calm me down since I am ADHD. Nice hot baths help also. Unfortunately, nothing can turn off my mind at times.

The Pepsi at night through me, but all the other ideas seem good to try.  I guess I do sometimes have a hot tea, so that is a caffeine hit too.

I could not sleep last night, so that is why I got up to post online and I will take a nap later when I usually do it.

If you don't have ADHD, you probably wouldn't want to drink caffeine at night. "normal" people get hyped up by caffeine. lol

I can sleep because my diabetes makes me tired.

These suggestions sound like work when all I need to do is sit down in my recliner and turn on the TV (doesn't matter to what channel) and I will be sound asleep in a few minutes.

From talking to others, I think it's pretty common for any old guys that have reached their 80's or thereabouts.
