I usually enjoy this time of the year, it's my favorite!  But in our area there is a surge of Covid, RSV and flu.  Looks like we may almost be in the same situation as last year.    My 90 year old Mother lives with us, so even though we have gotten her all the boosters and the flu shot we just have to be extra cautious.    ANYWAY,   Hap[y Holidays, Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year to all!!!

Jesus said at Math 24:35,Heaven and earth will pass away.My words never will.

At Math 20:28 he told his 11 disciples after he dismissed Judas at the Last Supper,"Keep doing this in remembrance of me"cos he knew later on he would be executed and die as a ransom for the human race.

He never says anything <or does the bible>RE 12/25 being his birthday. It was his death we should memorialize.Yes we can thank God for sending Jesus to earth but if he never died his birth would mean nothing.

It means a lot to us all, even when they move thousands of miles away.

Christmas is a wonderful holiday, but I think the time spent in preparation of it can sometimes be even more special. Not the commercialization or the cookie baking (although those cookies are tasty), but the Advent season is one of the most beautiful time periods that we have - preparing for Christ's birth and focusing upon the season without the materialism aspect.

With all of the commercialized push, it is hard to take a step back and reflect on this, but I pray that many in the world will do that this year and in future years.

The realization of God's love for us reaches its culmination on Good Friday and Easter, but He first had to become a man like us to experience that human death and resurrection.  Praise God!

Yes, we all need to remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.  Not to get to tied up with all of the other aspects of the season (although they are fun and very tasty!  LOL)
