Confess how really cheap you are
« on: November 25, 2022, 07:21:57 pm »
My confession is that I dig the remains of my lipstick out of the tube until it's all gone.

There's lots in there, girls, if you're cheap enough to dig for it. Or possibly crazy enough.  :P

I cut open the toothpaste tube with scissors to get the last bit out.

Re-use zip lock bags unless used with raw meat, all clothes from secondhand stores or at least clearance sales at Kohls, hang clothes on a clothesline outside so I'm not using the dryer. Lots of store brand foods. cheap trac phone.  Most basic TV channels.

I have Nintendo Switch online family plan with 7 other people, 6 of whom I am not related to despite it being a family plan. We split the annual bill on evenly. But I have it set to charge to my credit card so that I get the credit card cash back reward points.

You guys are novices at being thrifty, or else you're holding out on the rest of use. Is this the best you can do? I get Bath & Body Works hand soap and can use the foam in the bottom for a couple of weeks after the soap is virtually all gone. That's what I call perseverance.

I only use a quarter cup of laundry detergent when I wash clothes and I always try to hang them up rather than using the dryer. I wait to do loads of laundry until there is a full load.  :moneymouth:

I incorporate trips in my car so there are several places that I can hit on one trip rather than space them out and use too much gas. Let's Go Brandon.

You possibly are confusing economical with unethical. That is unless, of course, you're speaking of the universal brotherhood of man being family.  :glasses-nerdy:

Yo, I roll up the tube as tight as I can but I never thought of cutting the end off. Thanks for the tip.

Covneience store coffee vs dunkin donuts or starbucks. Convenience store due to cost; Tastes like gasoline but hey its on the cheap!

My dress for the day is usually flannel pajama bottoms and a selection from my T-Shirt drawer where most of them are 20 to 25 years old, but I cover them with an old red Hoodie anyway.

Au contraire. Words have meaning:

cheap
[CHēp]
ADJECTIVE
(of an item for sale) low in price; worth more than its cost:
"they bought some cheap fruit" · "local buses were reliable and cheap"
SIMILAR:
inexpensive
low-priced
low-price
low-cost
economical

ADVERB
at or for a low price:
"a house that was going cheap"

Did you actually take offense at my post?

To live within your means means that what you spend each month is less than or at least equal to the amount of money you bring in each month. Isn't that the same thing as being cheap? I am not ashamed of being cheap. Are you?

I would think a person making a few cents on Fusion Cash is dangerously close to being cheap. But if that offends your sensibilities, then I humbly apologize. :notworthy: I'm still not ashamed.

I wish you could post a selfie of you in this particular mode of dress. I'll bet you're another Matthew McConauhey.  :star:  :icon_rr:

I do all those things also, except I don't buy hand soap, I use dish soap in refillable hand soap bottles. And I only use the car twice a month for groceries unless I have a DR appt.  My husband takes our car to work every day and I usually  drive him to work in order to use the car.

I as well reuse zip loc bags. I also cut my shampoo bottles open to get the last bit out. I cut open a lot of other things too. I believe in getting my money's worth.
