Eggnog-Do you like?

One of my favs near the holidays; lot of sugar though. can only have small amts; when i was little could drink a whole cup or carton.

No I don't.  I've had non dairy egg nog made with coconut milk and I liked that.

I don't think I have ever tried eggnog, but I just can't get past the name.  The fact it is named eggnog just sort of turns me off.

Yo, cathy37. Wonder who thought up the name. It does give you pause, I must say.

Also, it's quite fattening. Have to go easy.

My sister makes some every year for the holidays and it is great.  Otherwise IO don't really care for.

Used to have it every years. Miss it. It's too expensive lately and I never seem to get to the store when they have it because it sells out quickly. In my area, we always mixed it with a shot or two of whiskey in it.

I like egg nog.  I always get some at Christmas.  It won't be long till Thanksgiving and then Christmas.  I stil have my Christmas tree up from last year.  I got to quilting and never got around to taking it down.  I hope everyone has a wonderful and bless week.

Love eggnog not the price.   Have had this recipe all my life, with no trouble from the raw eggs, but there are other recipes for "cooked egg"  eggnog, just google it.

Ingredients
2 eggs, beaten

3 tablespoons sugar

2 ⅓ cups low-fat milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 dash ground nutmeg

Directions
Blend together eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla and nutmeg. Serve chilled.

yeah, I am diabetic. I can only have less than a cup. One time in rehab i had a full cup but didnt think much of it at the time. Once i drank, i got sweaty and dizzy and felt like I was gonna throw up. The sugar in that caused a spike and it eventually went away. Learned a lesson to keep it to a minimum.

I am going to buy some eggnog for Christmas.  I wish I could buy it the rest of the year but it is not available.  I need to find me a recipe for it and I could make anytime I want some.
