$14,000 to replace battery in Electric Car
« on: July 28, 2022, 12:33:39 pm »
 :cat:

Before buying an electric car, do some research:

From Tellwut:

"Turns out, this is a pretty common problem for this particular car," Ray Siwinski, Avery's grandfather said. The car has sat at Ford Auto Nation in Pinellas County for the last few months. Ray said he was able to get a quote on a replacement battery for the electric car. "The Ford dealership had advised us that we could replace the battery," he said. "It would only cost $14,000." Do you think it is a good deal to purchase a used car, then have to pay MORE than it's original price to replace the battery?
Yes

I think this is what is commonly referred to in the industry as a scam.

I have never understood how anyone could think that electric cars were a good idea. What a mess caused by the liberals and their crazy climate change.  Sadly, some who bought into the idea are now stuck.

I would never purchase an electric car because I live in an apartment complex so I would not have a way to charge the car every day.  I don't think the property would put in charge stations for all apartments.

They have all kinds of issues like disposing of the batteries and the cost of charging them if lots of people have them. They only go so far on a charge. People will be waiting in long lines to get charged since it takes so long.

And the beat goes on.

Democrats suck. They're still trying for a great reset if Biden doesn't give us away to China first.

Okay; I'm done ranting. I love you guys. I even love you if you're a Democrat, cuz you could turn around and be rational at any moment.  :peace:

I have put up more then once a way around this.Sometimes i think people would rather complain rather then adhere to the truth.Thats been proven with my bible posts.

But anyway, listen kiddies and you will be glad you did.

Go lease a Toyota Venza. Its a hybrid <gas, electric>If you go 30 MPH or under it works off the battery.Over that the gas kicks in.It charges ITSELF!!!

I leased one 1 yr ago.Its a 3 yr lease with 10000 miles a yr im given. We will only use 8000 per yr.I have 5 free maintenances for 3 yrs and as long as we dont abuse the car everything else will be covered.

You will notice the difference in saving $$$ on gas and have no headaches with repairs and drive a great car.

This is an exceptional case and we do not know the entire story.

One of the most popular electric cars is the Nissan Leaf and their battery warranty covers free repacement if it drops below 70% efficiency. Also used electric car batteries are not worthless and can be used to power other projects giving them resale value after their normal life, which is from 8 to 20 years.

Also battery manufacturers are working on this technology and life spans are increasing every year, with Tesla developing a Million KWH battery they offer a lifetime warranty on.

Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.

Let's say that this is true. Who in their right mind would pay even $1000 for a battery??
