Chinch bugs
« on: May 25, 2022, 02:11:58 pm »
Not a fan in general of bugs, but the chinch bug problem around here this year is untenable. Ooh, a big word. Look it up. I did. :-[

Anyway, I have to do a chinch bug roundup every night before going to bed and they appear all over the house the rest of the time. They're totally innocuous and don't seem to cause any problems, but it's just the idea of having so many of them invading your space.  :P BTW, I don't like mice scurrying around either, but we do catch and release outside with them and they're really tiny, but lightning fast.

I don't remember ever having an issue this huge with this particular creature. To totally defeat them, you're supposed to treat your lawn, but I can't afford to have that done.  ::) I'm just wondering if they're prevalent where you're living.  :dontknow: We live near a lake so that might be part of the problem. Not sure.

I actually have never heard of them.  But like you I don't like bugs or mice in my space.

Never heard of this bug sorry theyre everywhere in your house. Wondering how they get in. Water can bring in mosquitoes.

I just got a message from a friend who lives about an hour away.  They are having an infestation of chinch bugs too.  Funny I have just never heard of them before.  But any infestation is a bummer.

Never seemed to have any issue with them here. We get the annual infestations around this time of year of muffleheads and mayflies which congregate by the tens of thousands (maybe even hundreds of thousands - it's so hard to estimate sometimes) on buildings and in doorways.

But the expert say that lots of bugs means that the Lake is healthy.  :dontknow:
