Mine has never asked me for my cell number to get in. I have had my account for a long time.

I thought everyone know about my PayPal tragedy by now.

For 15 years I was a loyal PayPal member and defended them when people cried about being terminated, but now I understand. I used a website that exchanged Bitcoin for PayPal and a couple of participants filed disputes saying they didn't get paid and I refunded to them, but PayPal froze my account with $900 in it for six months, which I fortunately got back. Then they froze my Micro-Payment account with $200 in it, which I never got back. The funny part was I never used that account except to sell digital goods that had nothing to do with Crypto. When I tried to reason with PayPal Support it was a JOKE. They would respond with canned emails that had nothing to do with the problem and attempts to call them were a dead end. I finally gave up, but I will never use them again.

Maybe when you first set up an account I don't remember because it's been a few years.  I never put in my phone number when I access my account.

I don't think I put in my cellphone number either, it definitely requires your email.

I use my mobile number to login. Its easier for me then putting in my lengthy email address.

I would never give companies my cell number.  This would good for scammers robo calling everyday.  Yes, companies sell your cell and home numbers.
