Such a horrific event. Up to 9 dead and 150-some still missing last I heard this morning. A couple had just moved in a couple weeks ago. They're missing.

That is a sad situation. I heard about some conspiracy theory pertaining to the McAfee death and the condo falling down.

unfortunate. similar to minnesota bridge collapse.

Are you in Minnesota? I drove over that bridge every night to and from work. My workplace was right there by the bridge, also next to the Red Cross. I couldn't get to work that night, because they cordoned off our building and used it to house supplies for the rescue/recovery. It was so long ago, but I remember that night so vividly.

6/30/74 was 47 yrs ago our town suffered the worst fire in the country that night for the yr.24 people were killed at a disco/bar where a thief robbed a bowling alley vending machines then lit a fire to cover his thievery. The disco was next door to the bowling alley and the AC unit pulled in all the poisonous black smoke that sent 24 people to their deaths immediately.

I was there that night and had left an hour before it happened only to find out soon what was going on and i went back to see for myself and couldnt believe what i had just left as a peaceful walk to my car to come home within an hr or so would be a hell to many.

I stayed long enuff to see the firemen carry out the body bags.

It is a shame so many people are still missing. I hope they find some more people alive.

Very sad to lose your life like that.  At this point I don't think anyone will be found alive.  You can only live so long without water.

I am following the news online for the past few days. Really sad and it made me wonder about other properties near water and how much risk there might be and if it's avoidable given the lessons learned in this case.

This is such a heartbreaking situation. :( My heart aches for everyone missing and their loved ones. This collapse reminds me of the Sampoong Department Store collapse back in 1995.

This is really sad for all the families involved and now others are concerned about their high rises.  Praying for the families and the first responders.
