My thoughts on the Capitol violence
« on: January 11, 2021, 08:25:20 am »
I've been debating back and forth since last Wednesday whether to comment on these issues and have started to write a response several times, only to change my mind and delete it. I am feeling motivation once again to type.

I have been a Trump supporter since day one, but I have also been critical of him when I thought it was warranted. This is one of those times. But my criticism is limited to the manner in which he reacted to the violence of last Wednesday in not immediately and harshly condemning it. He has since made different statements as has press secretary Kayleigh McEnany which were more appropriate to the situation.

I have to be critical of Trump here if I want to be 100% honest, objective, and fair - something that many of my Democrat countrymen still refuse to be themselves. On Wednesday, I lost a bit of respect for Trump due to the way that he first responded to the Capitol mob; I gained a huge amount of respect for the bulk of the Republican politicians who unconditionally condemned the Capitol mob; and I lost HUGE HUGE respect for Schumer, Pelosi, and they rest of those undeniable hypocrite D's for the way that they conditionally condemned some rioters and domestic terrorists while excusing others. (And just by the way, I did not realize prior to last Wednesday that I would be able to add more to my Republican respect jar, nor that it was possible to extract any more respect from my Democrat respect jar).

What happened on Wednesday was wrong and anyone who broke any laws should be put into prison. I don't even have a problem with some of those assholes getting a life sentence. What they did was 100% wrong and unwarranted.  Is Donald Trump to blame for their wrong actions? I personally don't believe so. He certainly got them riled up, but he did not command/control them. They had free will.  If Donald Trump is held responsible for their actions, then Bernie Sanders should be held responsible for the lunatic who shot up the Republican baseball practice nearly killing Steve Scalise. But I won't go there or open that can of worms...

No. Donald Trump's mistake in this series of events for which he absolutely deserves criticism and I am here to dish it out, is for not coming out more strongly against the anarchy.

But the exact same criticism should be leveled out against Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi and all of the other lying self-righteous hypocrites who excused the Antifa and BLM rioters/anarchists/domestic terrorists in the Pacific Northwest (and throughout the country actually). There is no difference between the illegal acts of either mob. (Some will even argue that it was Antifa plants in the Capitol mob who actually initiated the breach with the mob mentality taking over others in the crowd. I am not going to address that conspiracy theory because it would not excuse the culpability of those who followed through with the anarchy).

In July, BLM and Antifa rioters/domestic terrorists, attacked and attempted to take over a Federal courthouse in Portland, Oregon. There were also violent riots and lootings throughout the country which resulted in death, destruction, and other mayhem. Take you pick of any Democratic political leader or mainstream media outlet and those rioters/anarchists/domestic terrorists were referred to as peaceful protestors (as media footage shows the arson), their violence was excused, and many celebrities donated millions of dollars for bail money of those who were arrested.

I respect Republican leaders who called out and condemned both groups as rioters/anarchists/domestic terrorists regardless of their political point of view or motivations. I have zero respect for Democratic leaders and mainstream media who excuse the violent acts of those who have the same political persuasion while vilifying the SAME violent acts committed by those who have an opposing viewpoint.

And - again - to be true to myself and to God and to my fellow countrymen, I do call out Donald Trump for failing to more harshly and immediately condemn those actions that the Capitol mob took on Wednesday. But I most certainly and definitely do not take back or negate any of my acknowledgement or praise of the MANY positive and good things that Donald Trump has accomplished over the past four years for the country that many people wrongfully refuse to give him any credit for.

ALL protests which cross over the line to the point of domestic terrorism/rioting/anarchy should be punished. The motivation or perceived political persuasion of the guilty parties or to whom they give their allegiance should have no bearing on how they are portrayed by the media or by [friend or foe] politicians.

In summary: Republicans (excluding Trump) acted highly honorably (as usual);
Democrats in general (and Pelosi, Schumer, and Biden in particular) acted despicably (as usual);
Trump (unfortunately, but admittedly) did not handle this situation well at all.

I devote Proverbs 26 to Mr Trump

26  Like snow in summer and rain at harvesttime,
Honor is not fitting for someone stupid.+
2  Just as a bird has reason to flee and a swallow to fly,
So a curse does not come without a real reason.*
3  A whip is for the horse, a bridle is for the donkey,+
And the rod is for the back of stupid people.+
4  Do not answer the stupid one according to his foolishness,
So that you do not put yourself on his level.*
5  Answer the stupid one according to his foolishness,
So that he does not think he is wise.+
6  Like someone who cripples his own feet and harms himself*
Is the one who entrusts matters to someone stupid.
7  Like the limp* legs of the lame,
So is a proverb in the mouth of stupid people.+
8  Like tying a stone to a sling,
So is giving glory to someone stupid.+
9  Like a thorn plant that comes into the hand of a drunkard,
So is a proverb in the mouth of stupid people.
10  Like an archer who wounds at random,*
So is the one who hires the stupid one or those passing by.
11  Like a dog that returns to its vomit,
The stupid one repeats his foolishness.+
12  Have you seen a man who thinks he is wise?+
There is more hope for someone stupid than for him.
13  The lazy one says: “There is a young lion in the road,
A lion in the public square!”+
14  A door keeps turning on its hinges,*
And the lazy one on his bed.+
15  The lazy one buries his hand in the banquet bowl,
But he is too tired to bring it back to his mouth.+
16  The lazy one thinks he is wiser
Than seven people who give a sensible reply.
17  Like someone grabbing hold of a dog’s ears
Is the one passing by who becomes furious about* a quarrel that is not his.+
18  Like a madman who shoots fiery missiles, arrows, and death*
19  Is the man who plays a trick on his neighbor and says, “I was only joking!”+
20  Where there is no wood, the fire goes out,
And where there is no slanderer, quarreling ceases.+
21  As charcoal for the embers and wood for the fire,
So a contentious man kindles a quarrel.+
22  The words of a slanderer are like tasty morsels;*
They are gulped right down into the stomach.+
23  Like a silver glazing over a piece of earthenware
Are affectionate words from* an evil heart.+
24  The one who hates others disguises it with his lips,
But inside he harbors deceit.
25  Although he speaks graciously, do not trust him,
For there are seven detestable things in his heart.*
26  Though his hatred is concealed by deceit,
His evil will be exposed in the congregation.
27  The one who digs a pit will fall into it,
And whoever rolls away a stone—it will come back on him.+
28  A lying tongue hates those crushed by it,
And a flattering mouth causes ruin.+

Well, this is 2 weeks later. Trump did come out a day later on your subject. How do you feel about Pelosi and Chuckie's attacks and impeachment the very next day for what? No hearing, no defense allowed. Zip, zip, done. Today they said there were going to turn the impeachment documents over the the Senate next week. The Constitution states that if convicted, the president must be removed from office. Why won't they follow the Constitution? Unless they are talking about Biden (the president), how can they remove someone who is not president?  This is just another way to try to keep Trump from any political office from now until doomsday (which may be sooner than they think).

McConnell said it was only fair the they give 2 weeks for the attorneys for Trump's defense to get up and running. Chuckie REJECTED that request. Four years of full power by the Dems will wreck this country. They don't like to compromise.Bipartisan means "you'll do as I say, or we'll ruin you."

BTW, FBI proved Antifa, BLM and other Anarchists were absolutely in the front lines of the Capital invasion. They also said the female who died was QAnon, which is a far, far right radical group, not Trump supporters. They also stated this riot was preplanned a couple weeks ago on social media but some say they didn't warn the Capital Police. Who knows?  I find it ironic that Pelosi puts metal detectors outside the Chamber doors when, if the rioters would have broke through the doors, Cruz and the other Republicans would have saved her butt because they were right there with guns drawn; but of course, she's also after Cruz and Hawley for following the Constitution when objecting to the electoral votes of a few states. The states they were objecting to were those that changed the rules right before the election without going through the state legislatures following the rules in their state Constitution. The Dems did not allow any investigation into the challenges brought by Trump attorneys. Those attorneys screwed it up by calling fraud. They should have stated breaking the law, which the states did.

They just arrested the man who dragged the one police officer down the steps. He tried to commit suicide. He lives in Colorado.

Now that the Dems have full control of our government, how many more parts of the Constitution will be shredded? Welcome to the USSA.

Someone brought up a good point why Trump should be impeached.

If he is he wont be able to run again.

If he is able to run again and loses AGAIN....the 1/6/21 stampede will look like a walk in the park that may follow.

He was impeached in the House where it always happens. This is the Senate trial. They are the ones who acquit or find Trump guilty. Remember it's only one charge...and the Dems lost yesterday. It was proven that they edited tapes and showed how the Dems incited a lot of conflict. Managers stated Trump said "Fight like hell." Defense showed that Dems used those exact words over and over again. So today, they decided to push for witnesses. They are also trying to limit the witnesses the defense can bring forward (one). Then they laughed at the defense because he wants witnesses in his office, the way it's usually done. This will last weeks if not months. It is a clown circus all paid for by the taxpayers just because some in the House hated Trump.

Time they get back to the REAL business of working for the people, not themselves and their vendetta.

I really dont give a dam whether he runs again or not.Win or lose im smart enuff NOT to be a part of any circus that the Dems or Republicans  wanna start just like i was smart enuff to not support his stance on the virus he didnt care about.

The only thing that really mattered to me was why he didnt come to the aid of the JWs in Russia.Even if he couldnt do anything about it it woulda showed he cared.Otherwise his loudmouth and BS is just part of being a politician.

Trumps position and demeanor helped fuel that riot especially from someone that used MAGA as part of his slogan.

Lets see if he is smart enuff to stay out of the limelight. If he is this will die down.Im not sure cos of who he is he can.At the expense of making an azz out of himself maybe he learned the hardway.

Why is this still a thing? It's a nothing burger according to some of the people who were actually there.

I tend to believe that the violence was planned and instigated by Antifa or some other radical group who wanted to place blame solely on Trump supporters.

And the fact that an unarmed woman was shot seems to mean nothing at all to anyone except her family. Purportedly, the guy who shot her didn't even care she was unarmed. Does he just get away with murder??  ???
