I have had iPhones for a few years now, i never buy the newest one but I do have a good one and I love it.  We gave up on land lines a while back.  My husband had a blackberry for like 10 years until 1 of our daughter's replace her iPhone 6 for a newer one and forced him to get the old one for himself.

Are yoy aware that you can buy an unlocked used smartphone on Ebay for less than $50 and use it on Wi-fi for free?

A few years back I bought an unlocked one on ebay just to find out it wasnt't unlocked and no way to contact the seller.

I'm in a love hate relationship with my phone. It seems like its on the verge of dying or having indigestion from being over used

I am not willing to do surveys or anything else on my smart phone. I have a desktop and a tablet. Those two are good enough for sites like FC.
I don't begrudge anybody who makes that decision as it is a personal choice and really each person has the right to decide for him or herself what they are willing to disclose - but I have to tell you that I have been making a lot of spending money using smartphone apps. Several people have commented on different apps both here and in other threads.

Just this past weekend over the course of an hour or two I earned $50 in Amazon credit using a single app where they ask you to record short 5 minute videos of your decision making process as you shop for a specific product category in a grocery store. You often have to shop for (or evaluate) specific brands and they have several questions that you HAVE to comment on in order to qualify for payment, but most of their tasks pay anywhere from $5 to $25. On Saturday, I was able to do three $10 projects at Walmart and Meijer and one $20 project at Target.  In my area, those three stores are all on the same strip within about a mile or two.

Easy money all from a smartphone! Using just that one app, I've earned almost $1,200 in Amazon credit since the summer of 2017.

Congrats to you!   I never qualify for those and if I do they don't pay..

I don't have a smartphone. I still have the old flip phone that I started out with 10 years ago. I don't go anywhere and my phone was only used if I had an emergency while out somewhere. It stays in my purse now. My husband has one only because he couldn't hear on the Doro phones. He has finally, after 2 years, started using news sites if he isn't busy and gets the weather every day. Otherwise, only 3 people have his phone number. He really does hate phones. So he takes me to my appointments and I need to call when I get there so use his phone.

Be on the look out, 3G is sun-setting and older phones that use that transmission with cease to work.  I had to upgrade to a 4G phone this year, so I am aware, Verizon has set a date but others have already stopped new customers from signing.

I like my smartphone, which I have had for a longtime; and  as long as it continues to work I will not be upgrading every time they make a newer one;  I keep phones until they no longer serve my purpose and when I do upgrade it is never to the latest model. I am fine with an older model!

I've tried Ibotta don't recommend it unless if you plan trying to buy things they are giving cash back for. Most things I don't even buy the brand of. In fact a lot people seem to have my issue with Ibotta they just don't put out much of a brand you buy to really collect much at all and it take forever just to get a cash out

I thank my smartphone every time she manages to get me to where I'm going. I spent a great deal of time in my former years being lost.

I have zero sense of direction. So to me smartphones are the bomb.

I don't know what you use, but Wayz is an amazing App for not getting lost (most of the time). One trick I learned is to start your trip from home on Wi-Fi and you save on Data by leaving it off.

We are on Total Wireless. 2 phones for $65 a month. I am not sure what 1 phone would be, but that includes unlimited text, talk and 15 g. data. They use Verizon towers and have good service. My smart phone is very basic, and cost like $80.

Sounds like the company we have and the phone I'm looking at, and hubby has but he's so technology deficient, he still only uses it to receive phone calls. It costs around $42 a month for the 2 of us. He finally learned to use Goggle and reads the news every day when he's not busy.  Me? I'm still using the old flip phone and hate it. I only use it when the power goes off so I can call the electric company and/or when I lose cable...because when I lose cable, I lose regular phone service.

I want to get a smart phone because I want to join ibotta since I'm back to being the grocery store person and so I can do some surveys/etc. that are only on a smart phone and so I can send grocery receipts via phone instead of scan and send via computer.
