Black Friday...
« on: November 25, 2020, 11:29:34 pm »
I can imagine that with COVID, and less $, there will be significantly few shoppers in the stores on Black Friday...people will just stay home, and if they shop, shop online...thoughts??

Not sure where you get less money.  The stores are packed and people seem to have money to burn.  I honestly do not think there will be less shoppers nor will people just stay home and shop online.  I think people will do both.  Every since this started last March our Walmart has been super packed every day so I don't think too many are hurting for money.

Personally I have not done the "black friday" thing in a long time.  People are just too crazy.

I don't know about tomorrow, the the Mall near us has been pretty dead.  I've never gone out for Black Friday, fear of being trampled to death.  In our state, Covid precautions are causing loss of income.

I have NEVER shopped on Black Friday so that isn't anything different for me.  And the $$$ - well, having less is also normal for me.  So I guess nothing is different!!!!!!!!  Except the Covid :angry7:  It has made life difficult for the world :BangHead:

Sorry if I was confusing...what I meant was if all these people are out of work, etc., then they shouldn't be shopping, but like you mentioned, that doesn't seem to be happening...not sure why, but that's the way it is I guess...

I've shopped on Amazon they have the black Friday deals some seem to be ok.  I'm shopping for a few people  taking longer then going to a store.  Had a Macy's and Sears 5 minutes away now both closed.

Sorry if I was confusing...what I meant was if all these people are out of work, etc., then they shouldn't be shopping, but like you mentioned, that doesn't seem to be happening...not sure why, but that's the way it is I guess...

But what I was saying is most of the ones out of work have more money now than they ever have.  When people got that extra $600 a WEEK a lot of people were making $1000 give or take a bit every week.  They never made that much working.  You are right, if you are not working you should not be shopping.  I remember somebody mentioned and it may have been on here that her neighbor got laid off and she was getting deliveries every single day.  smh

The economy is booming and sales are soaring.  I don't know where everybody is getting all their money.  Maybe everybody is using credit cards? But I swear the shopping seems to be going stronger than ever.  My cousin saw on the news where it was showing droves of people out shopping.  So I guess they aren't doing the social distance thing.  I honestly think people are just tired of it and more and more are doing whatever they want.

I try to stay home unless I am working.  But best you can do you have to have things from town.

I use to do it.  It was a lot of fun.  Me and my cousin would go.  The last time I went somebody took something away from me (there was an entire pallet just a few feet away so not sure what the point was) and then 2 men got in a fight and I was in a place where I could not get away from it.  This was years ago when fighting was just hitting.  Now you are likely to get shot over some idiot trying to save $20.  I don't need anything that bad.  I am pretty much finished.  I will be finished after tomorrow.

I only went Black Friday shopping once before Covid-19 and it wasn't really worth it so I am not missing out on anything this year. Good luck to the ones who are still going out.

I think that many reasons that are stopping people from shopping on black friday.  The Pandemic and Lack of funds.  Plus, I am sure people are shopping online this year.
