Spam call
« on: November 13, 2020, 09:04:06 am »
I had a phone call a few minutes ago. It was a robotic ladies voice. She said she was officer so and so from social security, and my social security number has been used at the border of Texas. And she said to press 1 to speak to the investigating officer, I thought why not (LOL) so I pressed 1 and a man with broken English came on and said he was from SS and how can I help you. I said I just got a phone call so he should know. He wasn't expecting that so he was speechless for a few seconds and then said he was officer so and so from SS, I said I'm sure you are, he said huh, then he said shut up and hung up on me. LOL

That was very strange. You have to be very aware of calls especially when it comes to SS.

I can beat that.  I had the same thing happen to me.  I told him that I knew it was a spam call and he just starting call me all kinds of bad names that I am not going to put on the post.

I have never tried carrying on a conversation with any of them but wish I could figure out how to stop them from calling.

When I get those kind of calls I hang up.  They don't ask who they are talking to, it vjuld be me or my husband.  They just go into their spiel.  If we don't recognize the caller, we just don't answer.

Lately I've been getting so many spam calls, it's frustrating.  A friend told me the less I answer, the fewer the calls so I'm not answering any at this point, hope it helps!

And now he knows your number is a working number. It is best to not answer these type of calls.  I got that call a while back.
