Christmas Decorations
« on: November 10, 2020, 07:39:21 am »
Our weather has been in the 70’s for the last few days.  This weekend my husband put up the outside Christmas lights,  Better to donut in the warm weather then when it’s 40 and cold!

I think a lot of people are so looking forward to Christmas that they will be putting out their decorations earlier than usual.  Just this morning I was thinking about putting up the little tree that I always set up on an upstairs window box.

I plan to do it the day after Thanksgiving.

I'll be randomly decorating for Christmas every so often until it's here. :)

I have already taken the Friday after Thanksgiving off to put up Christmas decorations. I think that putting up decorations for a Holiday before another Holiday expires does a disservice, in this case, to giving Thanks for all that we have been blessed with. We lost one tree last year which was one of the harder trees to decorate so I am a little more excited about putting up decorations. I am hoping that the year 2021 is better than 2020 has been for so many people. Decorating for the Holidays will, hopefully, help people forget some of the horrible things that happened in 2020. With this thought in mind, I will go heavier with holiday decorations than I have in the past.I have already started looking up games to play on New Year's Eve with friends and family.

We live in an apartment and it is very cramped.  My daughter has a rule that the Christmas tree can be put up until the day after Thanksgiving.  I'm cool with that.  We don't do any decorations outside.

I do not do anything outside any more. Have not in a few years. I do quite a bit inside.  Been working on it for a couple days.  Hope to finish tomorrow.

If I would be the one climbing a ladder I wouldn’t decorate outside either.  He doesn’t mind, so he does the outside.

I never done anything that required a ladder. Just buses and some stuff in the yard. But without fail half the lights would go out. And nobody really sees it.  I decorate for me and my family not strangers so I really don't care about the outside.  I guess if it were easier and the lights would actually burn I might do a lot outside. But ladders are no fun.

I agree there are always lights that don’t work.  He does the entire roof (it’s a ranch house 1 floor) but he works construction so ladders are nothing to him, he has gone on roofs 4-5 stories high.  Me, I’m terrified of heights!

I wish I was motivated to do it but so far everything is still in the box. I will wait until the coldest day of the year to go out and put them up.

Even though we have not really put up Christmas decorations for many years, I think I may do something this year.  I am hoping to end the year on a positive note.
