Breakup Texts per Bustle.com
« on: September 04, 2020, 07:00:59 am »
Is this the way to do it?  Well, probably not, but here are some samples anyway.

1. Thanks for the drinks but his doesn't feel like the right fit.  Good luck on future dates.

2. You seem really great but I don't think we match in a romantic way.  You are going to be someone's soulmate and they are looking for you right now.  Thanks for your time.

3. Thanks for giving me a chance to really know you better but it doesn't seem like we are looking for the same things.

4. I just wanted you to know I wasn't comfortable with your behavior.  It did not sit well with me.  I don't think we can be a match but I wish you well.

5. This has been fun over the past weeks but I don't think we are going anywhere on a romantic basis.  I'm looking for more and I am sure there is someone out there to suit both of us.

What do you think?  Like any of them?

I think numbers 2 and 3 are nice easy let-downs. They aren't insulting like 4 is and they contain a little praise for the other person as well.

I am thankful that I am not on the dating scene in the current texting climate!

To be honest, I think it is taking the easy way out to text a breakup - unless you are strictly online dating have have never met face to face. If you've been on actual dates with a partner, then I think it requires a face to face breakup or at the very least a telephone call.

On the other hand, if the person is a stalker or overly creepy or some kind of dangerous deviant, then texting is fine in my opinion and #4 might be appropriate in that instance.

I really don't care for it but this new technology seems to be the way to go these days.  I prefer the old fashioned way or maybe talking over the phone.  Sometimes face to face can be dangerous depending on the people involved and the issues they may have.

I would suggest you use number 2. There are many ways to end up any kind of relationship. If you are asking me, I would rather speak with the person face to face than tell him or her through a text. I think that it's more polite to do it like this. After all, each person has different personality traits, so it's hard to say that one thing is better than another. We simply do things differently. Of course, there are bad things that we all agree on, but a lot of things are up to discussion. Always make sure that you had taken the right decision.

I am so glad I'm not dating right now.  My last relationship lasted for seven years and he just seem to lose interest in me so I broke it off.
