Well at 66 I no longer have anyone much to celebrate these holidays with - I have a son who lives with me and a younger son who will come by but I don't know if it will be without masks but for people like you I hope that works out.  Either way I am going to do something special.

I have a bad feeling that our family (my husband, my two boys, and I) will not be able to meet with our extended family for the holidays this year because of COVID-19. My stepfather is rather elderly, and none of want to take any chance of infecting him. The thought of not having the big family get together is really disappointing. But you never no; maybe things will clear up a lot by then.  :snowman: :turkey: :peace:

You could do skype or something to talk to family far away.  I remember a few years ago my cousin was in another state on Christmas and on Christmas morning her dad put her on skype so she could talk to Mammaw.

I already thought about needing to go ahead and start some Christmas shopping. Don't know what things will be like closer to December. And ordering may be insane and things may take longer to come. I know a couple of small things I want but you usually can't find them til closer to Christmas. Kind of more like stocking stuffer items. :D

No, I dont think so; only with people who you live in house with daily but I don't see extended family being involved. I will not be traveling to see family this holiday season.

We will probably go to the beach for Thanksgiving as a couple and then travel north for Christmas. We will get together as usual. No one wear masks with family.

Usually for the holidays it is just me and my mom. We don't have a gathering of people so no masks for us. Hopefully by the holidays things will be a little better for everyone but I don't have high hopes the way things are going in my state.

If we could all get our acts together, we might could have a fairly nice Holiday season.

I agree, so many other countries locked down everything hard and are now back to almost normal.  We just have to many people who think just about themselves and now how their actions affect others.

While the majority here on FC seem to wanna obey the rulz to take the virus seriously,U still have some foolish ones that wanna do their own thing and thats just the way of the world and it will always be that way until Gods kingdom governs us.

If you live in a liberal sanctuary state, some have instituted the "snitch" programs. If people aren't wearing masks, even outside, they are to report them to the police or some other agency (I didn't pay attention to which agency), and they can get a hefty fine.  The "snitch" programs remind me of the days of Hitler. It's sad to see this country moving away from a republic form of government.

I saw that.  That is what I was talking about earlier. People better pull their head out of the sand and look at what is going on around them.  I am not sure but I think it was just in certain states.  I can just see the "karens" driving around with their cell phones trying to get pictures of people outside without a mask on. ::)
