My diet that worked
« on: August 02, 2020, 04:43:07 pm »
I weighed a little over 300 pounds at the beginning of the year. I decided that I was gonna give up soda, chips and junk food and lose a few pounds. I have a cheat day once in a while with take out or cake on someones birthday. Even when I drove across the country We had to eat takeout and snacks. Yes it was  hot so I took a few sips from the 44 oz pepsi. After I got home I weighed myself and realized I lost over 50 pounds . I will continue to stay on my diet until thanksgiving and the holidays. I am not giving up great holiday foods but I will limit myself. I will also keep away from soda but I enjoy nachos a couple times during the season of new years and sports :)

That is absolutely great! Yes soda all by itself can cause you to gain so much weight. I don't drink it at all.

Wow that is some accomplishment, losing 50 pounds like you did. And it's just great that you are going to keep going with it. You could run into some awful health problems if you don't lose some more.

Congratulations of the weight loss and I know that it does work to cut out certain foods.  I know that soda is bad, but I just have to have a little every day.

Wow! That weight loss is wonderful, metsrock69! My weight loss story is very similar to yours. I weighed about 316 a couple of years ago, but then I started eating more sensibly (with occasional cheat days) and stopped drinking sodas (even though I was drinking diet sodas).  I had read that diet sodas kind of set you up for cravings, so I just started drinking water almost all of the time. Without really thinking about it much, I ended up getting down to 270, much to my surprise!  I guess I just kind of changed my eating habits and kind of didn't think about food as much as I used to. Anyway, congratulations again on your wonderful weight loss!  :peace:

Good for you. Stay with it and don't call it a "diet"; call it sensible eating for the rest of your life.

It's all up to you to keep that mindset. Your body will thank you in many ways. You are beautiful.  :rose:

Good for you. I've battled my weight most of my life.  Now I'm at a reasonable size and fit and I intend to stay that way.  You can do it!

Congratulations.  So far I have lost 22 lbs since December, and still have aabout 25 more to go, but the way I did it was registering in NOOM, it has been very good for me. I have also given up most of the junk food, sodas, etc.  But NOOM teaches you HOW to eat, you still can eat everything moderate and it tells you which food are the best, the classify them as Green, yellow and Red Foods, you still can eat all of them but count the calories.

It has been great for me.  Continue on your journey you can do it.

I'm glad to hear that you have been able to change your eating habits and lose weight like you wanted, as well as being disciplined to stay with it -  most people give up after a few days if they don't lose weight or something. Nice work - and keep going. (PS - A Cheat day is good once in a while....)
