I am guessing this is not true.  Google is just gonna close up shop for one year???

Then say they are working from home. lol  Not they do not have to report to work.  If you work from you then you still report for work at a specific time.  Some people are not aware of that little fact.  I still haven't seen it anywhere.

Rather scary I'd say

Why is it scary? You people are spooked way to easy. It kind of makes sense. And is cheaper on the company. They don't have to pay for office space, electric, ins and a ton of other stuff. I am not comfortable with customer service dealing with my credit card working from home. But google? I really don't care. I would love to find a job like this where I could work from home.

Why would it be "understood" several companies have said employees did not have to report to work for x amount of time. They did not work. Not from home.  Not any where.  The employees were paid anyway.  So the way you said it that is what I thought it meant.  If you had said Google will allow their employees to work from home I would have known what it meant.  Like I said, even if you "work from home" you still have to report to work.  My cousin works from home as a customer service type agent.  She still has specific times to report to work, specific lunch and break times, and specific log off times. A lot of people are confused on work from home jobs. It is not like doing surveys where you can do whatever you want when you want. You still have specific work times.

What do you want me to say?  I did apologize and will try to explain better.  I feel you are usually talking down to me.  I try not to cause any trouble on the forum, I try to keep my opinions to myself and try to get along.  Ok, maybe I didn’t clarify my statement the first time, but you again had to comment.  Please don’t respond to this, I honestly don’t want to go back and forth on something so petty.  Can’t we please just be friendly on the forum, yes we can disagree but let’s not pick on each other.

::)  Then that is on you.  I did not talk down to you.  You read it how you read it and you take it how you take it.  I took your post as talking down to me so there you go.  If you don't want me to respond then don't respond to me!  Yes I said something back to you. That is how conversation goes. Nobody is picking on you.  People are too snowflakey. Good grief.

And so it continues......But honestly I wish you would tell me how I talked down to you?  All I said was I apologized and said I would do better.  Please do not refer to me as snowflake.  Again, I dont understand why this can’t be a friendly forum.  Can’t we just drop this and just go on?

I did not see anything that looked like an apology.  You said you would better critique your post lol.  I took that as you being smart.  You want to drop it but you keep replying.  You are talking friendly in other threads.  I don't get it.  You are reading something online.  You can read it a totally different way than the way the person posted it.  Guess it is how it sounds in your head.  If you read what I said I went on explaining why I thought what I did.  I think people get too bent out of shape too easy and are ready to reply before they actually see what the other person says.

If you read what I wrote there are companies that have told their employees not to come to work for x amount of time. They are OFF but they will still be paid.  The way you said it made it sound like that was the case. I could not see Google shutting down for a year. Not going to go through it all again. I went on talking about how work from home jobs work. A lot of people do not understand how that works.  They think it is basically like the surveys.  You get up when ever you want and stroll through and work a bit when ever you want all while wearing your PJs.  That is not how it works.  You have specific times you work and you are logged on to their system and they know if you are working or not. It was just a comment.  Again, a lot of people do not know how work from home actually works.  Why?  They do survey sites like this and call it a job and think that is what working from home is.

Why can't this be a friendly forum? Beats me.  Mostly cause people take things the wrong way. Or are just vile vindictive miserable people who seem to take pleasure in trying to make others miserable. LOL Or they  say things that are offensive and then get mad when people rebut the comment.  For example the comment that was made saying if you don't wear a mask it is your fault that people are dying.  ::)  Not only is the statement not true but people are going to probably not just let that go.

I am trying to avoid threads that I know are political and lately that have to do with masks.  Sad that masks are going to be the downfall of this country.

I was not being smart.  Just replying to what you said.  I also did not think anything about your first comment.  I was just replying to what you said.  And there are companies that are shutting down with the hopes of reopening later. Sadly most will probably not reopen at all.

I also don't know why it keeps putting my comment and your comment responses in the green.  ::(
