Covid test
« on: July 08, 2020, 09:58:39 am »
Anyone got one or thinking about getting one?  I had to get one last month when I had minor surgery.  I was happy to get one just for peace of mind.  I really encourage everyone to get one even if you don't have symptoms.

What peace of mind? That is so stupid. You can have a test on Monday and go to Walmart on Tuesday and be exposed and then have the "virus" but your test comes back a week later and says you are negative because on Monday you were. But you got exposed after it. I cannot understand the thinking of oh I had a test so now I know I don't have it.

There is no way I would just go have that test just for the heck of it. But I think it will come down to people being forced to have the test to start a new job or even see a doctor. I know even out patient procedures they are making people have it. I guess if I made a doctor appointment I would ask if that was going to be required. I can see them springing it on you after they get you in the back.  smh  If you want to have it that is fine and all well and good for you but I do not agree with forcing people who have no symptoms and are not sick in any way to have that test.

I'm not thinking of getting one because I don't go anywhere except doctor appointments. My family doc doesn't do the testing unless you ask for one.

As for symptoms, it is a well-known fact that you can have no symptoms for 14 days yet have COVID from day 1.

I would kind of like to get the antibody test at some point, because I was very sick in Feb and I'm curious to know if I could've had it already. But, I don't go out much anyway and if I did have covid I've thoroughly exposed the people I was going to anyway by now (family) so I'm in no rush.

I am going to have MOHS Surgery (to remove skin cancer) next month and they told me I may have to be tested for Corona before I can proceed, but I don't mind one way or the other.

I think you must get tested for any type of surgery now.  Good luck with the surgery.

It is not a well know fact. It is something the "theys" say. You can't really believe anything at this point. They change what they say every day. I heard this morning that it is "airborne" LOL I think we all knew that - but now they say it can travel 30 feet.  Good luck keeping people 30 feet from each other.  The good thing about all these positive tests they keep saying is the death rate and hospitalization rate is going WAY down. Which proves it is not as bad as they try to act like and certainly is not a reason to shut the world down.  I don't go to the doctor. Not unless I am really sick. Not one to have monthly appointments.  Other than if I go to Walmart or the grocery store I don't go anywhere but work.  I don't know if doctor's are going to start requiring the test to get appointments - I just said it would not surprise me.  I know people have been forced to have the test for some stupid reasons.

A lot of people say the same thing. I was sick in January. If you were sick in February you are not still exposing people. When I was sick nobody else around me got sick. I am not believing this "virus" is as contagious as they try to say. People need to do some research and THINK instead of getting mad and stomping and arguing. An 18 year old girl locally was the first in my county to have this. She lived in a house with 5 other people. NO ONE else in the house got sick. NO ONE.

There was also a 94 year old woman with COPD who had it (locally) and she recovered. It is not the death sentence they want you to believe.

They are also saying now you can have the antibodies but only for a short time and they disappear.  Not to fret because by tomorrow they will change their mind. I am not worried about it. I had what I had. I lived and I am fine now. I do know back in the winter a lot of people were sick with flu like symptoms and they were testing negative for the flu. I think they had this virus. I think it was here as early as last fall.  That has also been said by so called experts. ::)  And they also said it was likely in China as early as 2018.

For something like that I don't know why you would even need to. I know a couple of people who have had to be tested before surgery. None of them have been positive.

I think so. But also for just an in office procedure like having a mole removed. Just a way to force you to have the test. They want to tout temps and masks so just have the person wear a mask and take their temp and go on. lol

I could care less either way - other than not wanting to get my family sick.

I wouldn't mind if they required me to be tested for whatever reason. Too many A symtomatic people running around. I wouldn't want to pass it to anyone else even if I stay home 99% of the time.

I would never want one. I seen what it consists of and it looks painful. I even seen a video online of where they tested a 2 year old. That was sad to look at :peace:

I would get one done when it is time for me to return to the workforce. Other than that I don't think I need to.

Exactly why everyone should get one even if they don't have symptoms.

It's uncomfortable for a few seconds that's it wouldn't say it's painful.  I did blow my nose for a few minutes after to try to get rid of the tickling feeling.  It went away pretty quickly.
