The Congressional House has passed many bills which are still laying on McConnell's desk.  This is unacceptable when you consider the nature of some of these bills.  For example, both major and minor legislation have been included in this logjam: healthcare reform, climate change, food safety, financial aid for the U.S. postal service, a job security act for wounded veterans, a Civil War battlefield preservation act, vision care for children, the naming of a federal courthouse in Iowa after former rep. Jim Leach (R-Iowa), a National Historic Park named for Jimmy Carter, a bill to improve absentee ballot voting, a bill to improve cybersecurity, and the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

If you are from Kentucky or have family or friends there, please vote for Amy McGrath as Mitch is an obstructionist idiot! It's not even about partisanship, it's about doing something for the people of this country and not a personal agenda and power!

This is one of the reasons why there needs to be term limits on politicians, these career politicians forget who they work for.

I'm not sure the reason why they don't go for votes other than they need the bill to get out Cloture to actually go to the floor for an official vote. To get out of Cloture the Senate would need a super majority of 60 votes on any particular bill, perhaps it is obvious that the bills left on his desk, would never get the initial 60 votes as they don't have bipartisan support & why waste the time on it when there is already such a backlog?

Are they lying there because of his irresponsibility or because the Senate refuses to vote on them? IMO, I think Mitch McConnell is a good representative. I disagree that he's an obstructionist or an idiot.

I am not a fan of MItch!  But, I'm also not a fan of most politicians.  I think if we implement term limits for politicians, they might actually try to do some good and have the public's best interest in mind while in office.  Unfortunately, they all want to be career politicians so they spend all of their time paying back favors and towing their party line in order to get money so they can be reelected.  The system is definitely wrong and needs to be fixed.

They are lying there because Mitch refuses to bring them to the floor.  For some reason, he seems to have the say in that because of his position in the Senate, I suppose. If so, that needs to be changed!!!

That's politics... many of those politicians are obviously "getting paid by somebody" -- even countries have lobbyists that lobby on behalf of their country, which how is that even allowed. China has a big lobby in DC.
There is some Republican congressman, I believe, that is blatantly working on behalf of Google; Corporations run their candidates, Unions run their candidates, etc... just look at how they vote & who benefits & how rich they have become, & members of their family, from just a lifelong government salary.   Bernie Sanders is one of the only ones that didn't become a multi millionaire... he might be a communist, but at least he actually believes his convictions & not working for some corporation or entity
