so now I know
« on: June 17, 2020, 11:33:31 am »
Just found out that my son in law tested positive for covid.  What prompted the doc visit is that he lost his sense of smell.  Other than that he thought it was allergies.   My daughter was also tested but doesn't have the results yet.  She also has symptoms the resemble allergies.  Then she ran a fever for a short time.  Another friend of mine says she has it also.  More flu like symptoms.  So now I know somebody that has the virus.

Stay safe everyone.

Now you know why I stay home, you never can tell until it's too late. If you have been around them I would definitely get tested and if you have not, I would keep it that way.

I heard last night on fox news that Astrazeneca which is the company that makes an asthma medicine called Symbicort has actually come up with a potential vaccine for covid 19. Apparently this vaccine is going to be sent to Italy, France and another European country (can't remember which one). I don't know why the USA wasn't on the list (I know Symbicort is a very expensive medicine, perhaps that's why) but if this works, I hope your daughter and son in law get a prescription for it! I wish your family luck and pray for their speedy recovery!

Oh goodness. My thoughts, prayers, and wishes for a speedy recovery for your family members, OP. I know that it is not easy. Two members of my family tested positive for COVID-19 as well. Thankfully, they have since recovered.

I read that loss of smell and taste were one of the symptoms later added; hopefully they will be okay and can just stay quarantine at home for the recommended time as oppose to having to go the hospital. If you have been around them, you might want to get tested also and if you have not wait until they are given all clear.

I just saw on FB that someone I knew in middle school got it and recovered and another person from college who had a little brother die from it.

Good luck and well wishes to both your daughter and son in law!  :rose:

I had heard about the lost of smell and taste been part of Covid symptoms, my older daughter has a friend that caught COVID early on, I believe he was patient Zero in the County were he lives.  He told the story to us via blog and it was not fun, he is an asthma sufferer so the virus wreck havoc on him, he has a 2 years old daughter and saw his grandfather before he got tested positive.  He was so scared that his daughter and grandfather had caught it.  He has now recovered but his lungs are not at full capacity.  And at the very end when he thought that he was better he lost his sense of smell.

This virus is very tricky and scary, please keep safe and hopefully your SIL will recover soon.
