Our state is going up, I stay home most of the time and use Walmart pickup. Occasionally I do have to go into the store but always wear a mask. The sad part is that about 75% don't wear masks. But everyone is pretty good at staying 6 feet apart.

This is not simply a new strain of flu, around 50,000 people in US die of flu a year with no lockdowns over a year.  This virus has killed over 115,000 in 12 weeks even with all the precautions and the states that thought it was fine to open up are now have huge increases and trying to figure out ways to back up on their opening up so soon.  Arizona is one state where there emergency rooms are full so if you have a heart attack or car accident good luck finding a place to take you.  They opened about 3 weeks ago.

The 2nd wave of the 1918 pandemic killed more people than the first because they didn't want to take precautions anymore and went back to living as if nothing was happening.

As far as I can tell, my state's positive cases and deaths have been going down. We have been easing restrictions more slowly than other states. I'm not sure how all the protesting will affect our numbers in the next few weeks. Although, most of the protesters are kids in their 20s, so they're less likely to be affected.

Why are the Netherlands, Japan and a few other countries with low counts of illness and mostly zero illness now? Why aren't we hearing anything about Germany, Spain, Italy and France anymore? Is everyone cured?  Those countries weren't on lockdown as long as we were. Why?  Sometimes I think this was a biochemical attack on the countries who are our allies and us. I know, I know...conspiracy theory but you have to admit that we're still having high numbers and Dr. Fauci is not helping much by always changing his mind on what to do. The easiest thing to do would've been to check with other countries. Not the W.H.O. They are on China's payroll, always have been, and Fauci is close to the Head of W.H.O. Fauci doesn't seen to  want a cure.

These other countries had a lot more severe lockdown, better leadership and they followed the rules whereas here some places maybe shut down for a less than a month. These countries are smaller which also plays a role.  You can control things a lot better when there aren't as many people.

LOL  When you live under communism you can control the people.  We are a free country.  There is your biggest difference.

I don’t know why our numbers are rising and other countries are not.  New Zealand reported their last case and now there are totally virus free.  The Netherlands, Japan, France, Italy, Germany, Spain are not under communism rule, can’t figure out why they are not increasing, they must be doing something better than we are.

Yes it is simply a new strain of the flu. Talk to a doctor. We talked to a specialist a couple days ago and that is exactly what he said it is. He also said more people have died with the flu that this virus.  No there are no "lock downs" this is something new.  A trial run at control.  You are free to lock yourself down and you will be safe.  As long as THOUSANDS of people are allowed to march and scream in the streets do not tell me that I need to stay at home so I don't get a virus.  I don't go that many places anyway but I am not going to try to control what others do.  If you want to go some where you should be free to do so.

Why are the cases of Covid-19 going up?  Why can't we get it together and stop this from spreading?

The problem with that question has already been addressed in previous posts. There is no genuine "we" as much as there are a collection of "I's". "I's" that, albeit fairly, behave in an ego centered fashion so, there really is no query there.
"Let me ask you something. If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?"

Our state goes up by the same numbers every day. Most people don't believe it.  There are people who work in hospitals who will tell you the numbers are inflated and they are lying. So you can pick who to believe.  The media or real people who are in the know. If in a couple of weeks there are not 4 million new positive cases then it is all a lie.

Then move yourself to a communist country.  Maybe they are lying about their numbers.  Ever think of that?  I am not fortunate enough to have free money handed to me every month. I have to work.  If I do not I will lose my home. It's funny but the ones screaming the loudest "lock us down" are people who never leave home any way and are drawing government checks.  They don't have to worry about money or working.  Maybe all the working people should strike for about a month.  What will you do then? Cause you can't just sit at home and order stuff.  Nobody will be working.

Again, those are NOT communist countries.  Read my reply before you freak out.  NO WHERE did I say anything about money.  I agree with you that with the $600 unemployment money people are getting, they are making more money than when they worked.  Also we are not rich by any means, my husband and I both work full time me 40 hours a week my husband sometimes 50+ hours.  My hours are cut and his were eliminated but he just went back this week.  I never screamed lock down nor do we have money handed to us.  Yes, he got unemployment of $600 a week, but that was not what he used to make, and we struggled like most people.  Please don’t put words into my mouth.  All I said was I don’t understand why their numbers went down and ours didn’t!

All we can do is to wait for a vaccine and/or a cure become available and we all be safe. The state governments are moving too fast to reopen the economy.

I personally am not holding my breath about a vaccine any time soon and if there is one it's going to be years away.   I hope I'm proven wrong on the timeline I just don't believe it.

I think because as things start to open up; many are not wearing masks or practing social distancing; people want to do what they want to do, not caring that this virus is still out there!. Also, I would imagine as more testing becomes available; then more people might have access to get tested and the numbers may go up.

Exactly

Dang. People need to learn to read a comment and not get so offended and think every single thing in the comment is directed at them.   Most of the people, wait, ALL of the people who are screaming they want everything locked down either live off the government or somebody is paying their bills for them.  If I don't work and can't pay my bills I will lose my home. It is the same with most others who are wanting to work.

So very true.  People can jump to wrong conclusions and not really read or understand what the other person said.  If we didn’t work we would also lose our home and everything we worked all our married life for.  We have to learn to be more tolerant of people and their opinions.  It would be a very boring world if we all agreed on everything.
