Finally going on vacation

well We were supposed to go at the end of may but was postponed due to uncertain reasons. We were gonna fly down but decided to truck it across the country. it will be fun doing that again. just not on a greyhound this time. I prefer to drive this time

Good for you and hope it's a fun and memorable time.  My family drove across country many many years ago and it was great.  We stopped in each state and saw plenty of landmarks but I don't think I can take that trip now.  After five hours, I'm stiff and ready for a hotel.  Enjoy.

Congratulations on, what I am certain, is a well deserved vacation! I have traveled from Colorado to Arizona and back several times over the last few months to take care of mt parents. I like driving for long stretches because I have time to myself to just breath and think. We are getting close to transferring my mother to a memory care unit that is less than a mile from our house which should be the end of long drives until she passes away and we take her back to Arizona. We are waiting for my father's death certificate so that we can access the estate accounts and pay for flights/rent down payments. We received notice that the United States Postal Service is running about a week behind due to the riots. It is what it is-she will soon be in our loving hands.

Good for you, I am sure we are all ready for a vacation; while don't like road driving I may be doing more of that for short trips; seems a safer way to be in my own vehicle as oppose to any kind of public transportation. This pandemic has changed our lives in so many ways.

We had a trip to Florida scheduled later this month, but decided to postpone it for non-Covid related reasons. We were initially going to drive, but then switched or plans to fly. Now - not really sure what mode of transportation we are using.

I think you are going to have a great time, trucking across the country. Do you plan to stop at sites like national parks and have a look around? I also think you are a lot safer driving than you would be flying for coronavirus reasons.

I am not stopping at different sites since I have driven this road many times before. I was gonna fly but right now it is more of a money saver between flying then a renting a car.

We had a trip planned to a state that they said had opened up, on the drive there we were told sorry our time share would not be available for another month.  So be really aware of where you are going right now so that you do not get stuck.  Otherwise have a good time, I think we all need some vacation time now!

Congratulations OP. Have fun, but remember to stay safe as well. Unfortunately, my employer has imposed a travel restriction and so, until further notice, I am unable to travel. I am super bummed, especially as we approach the summer months. I was really looking forward to seeing my family and visiting some historic U.S. sites with my boyfriend.
