J.C. Penney files for bankruptcy

To bad liked  jc penny's shopped there often. Remember doing online shopping for Christmas at Macy's couldn't find anything at the righ5 price. Went to jc penny found something right a way.

A lot of big name stores cannot weather these times anymore.

It is one of the anchor stores in the mall near our house; not sure if it is one that will be closed, feel sorry for those that will be out of work. I like to shop there, but it is a big challenge to sometimes to  find a sales person to help you and so to even find a register to check out. The old days of sales person being on the floor are gone; when and if you want to ask a simple question. I am not a fan of online shopping, but it looks like that where we all are headed with so many retail stores closing.

I actually thought JCP had already closed.  So many big name stores are closing.  This doesn't bode well for people needing a job.

Some other big store is suppose to be closing. I don't remember which one. It was a retail place. Listed with a bunch of others.  I figure they will just close the physical store and will keep online open.

Everyone sorta saw this coming no ? Like the prices was not worth it compare to other retailers with lower price.

ours is supposed to be closed this summer...it is in the mall..not many stores left in the mall..well big ones anyway

A couple of malls within an hour or so of me have closed.  There is one about 40 minutes from me and I have heard there are a lot of empty spaces.  Would not know as I have not been in quite some time.  The mall is not what it use to be.  Most of the stores were over priced junk any way.  Why would you give $60 for a tee when you can get something similar for $5 at Walmart.

I learned about JCPenney filing for bankruptcy a few days ago (which goes to show how much I follow the news, sarcasm). In any event, I feel as though a part of my childhood has left; my mother and I used to shop at JCPenney a lot when I was younger.

Liked the online store got Christmas presents fast and good prices. Have a gift card I should use. Won't go into the store probably a little drive from whereby live.  Wonder about Macy's that is 5 minutes from where I live. Know they closed cause of the pandemic no5 sure if open.
