I saw about these on news last night and I thought gosh what else now.  Those things looked and sounded scary.  I fear for the effect they may have not only people but bee's.  Gosh seems like a period of pestilence and hardships right now and bad weather.  Prayers for safety and comfort for all of us.

These hornets are dangerous to bees not people.  Well not directly.  They kill honey bees.  Which is sad.

They have killed 50 people in Japan.

I found this interesting (and terrifying):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgU68wLOPf4

I agree with the terrifying part!  These things can be up to 2 inches long.  I saw a video of one attacking a mouse and the mouse could not get away from it and was eventually killed.  Then this thing turned on the person who was running the camera and that person had to run.  From what I have read, these things are vicious, deadly, and determined.  I am wondering how they got into the U.S. and I can think of several ways. I need to research to see if they can be eradicated and what it takes, if so!

From what I have read online, they only have a lifespan of one year, so if we can control them for that long we can beat them.

What I want to know is why, if they're just now coming out of hibernation, haven't they been eradicated? The people who  told us about these bees seem to know WHERE they are. Why didn't they take care of them then?  We can't have them killing the honey bees. They pollinate all our plants, especially food plants. They are fighting some sort of disease that are killing the bees, too, so they definitely need to make the Murder hornets top priority.

Apparently they are in the US not and potentially dangerous....check them out so you're prepared!

We have nobody to blame but humans for this sudden invasion of Killer giant bees! We continue to knowingly & unknowingly bring in species of animals & insects into our boarders illegally. Some come into environment that don't have preditor/prey competition causing them the take over everything!

I don't think we should eradicated these bees just because, we should study & find a more humane way to take care of the issue.

It would be so Ironic if we totally WIPED OUT these bees & later find out that they're biological chemistry is the cure for not just the Coronavirus but also other virus like, AIDS, Sars, abola, bird flu,.........etc.........We'd be kicking our asses in the end!

I saw this too a few days ago and thought, this year is getting scarier and scarier by the month!

There are plenty of terrifying critters out there in nature already... so thrilled to see one more added to the list, lol. At least they tend to only target other insects unless provoked. I bet most of us are very unlikely to run into one of these. I feel bad for the bees, though.
