That sounds good. I was going to say whatever color you go with, choose a light tone because dark colors can seem to close in a room.

I agree, gray and sage green will look great.  I never liked gray, but now it’s one of my favorite colors.  I have painted my dining room a light gray and I love it.

It all depends on your favorite colors or just refreshing the colors. 
I hate doing the matchy matchy colors.
