What do you do with your old phones?
« on: April 21, 2020, 10:23:44 am »
I know you can donate or sell them but my old phone is at least five years old and it's not a popular model like an iphone or anything like that so no one is going to buy it.  I'll check into some recycling sites for it.

I think I still have a few very old ones sitting in a drawer somewhere. I'm sure at this point it would be better recycled for metals or whatever than possible anyone would buy them

We get new phones every two years so we can trade our phones in on the new ones, at least we did the last time we got new phones.

Most of mines are stored in a box somewhere in the basement.

I seem to be collecting them.  I have two really good phones that I got stuck with when I switched from AT&T to Verizon.  AT&T had royally ripped me off on a phone (was supposed to be free but ended up costing me $860).  After I switched carriers, I found out the "free" phone would only work with AT&T.
Have a wonderful day!

I still have two phones: one Samsung Galaxy S8 and a Motorola phone. I am strongly considering recycling the Motorola and selling the Samsung Galaxy.

I have an old Motorola G3 on Android and hooked it up to Wi-Fi so I could install a Math App for my grandaughter to use. It does not even have a SIM card in it and has a cracked screen, but it still works fine for that.

I use the phones to stream music or play mp3s or audiobooks when they get old. Then when they no longer work, I do a factory reset if possible, & turn them in to the electronic waste recycling events that seem to happen around here several times a year.

I usually hold onto my old phones.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

Either throw it away or keep it a drawer and forget about it.

I don't know, I think I have a couple of them stored here in the house somewhere, should probably get them recycled or put to some sort of use!
