What the heck?
« on: April 18, 2020, 01:33:35 pm »
I got a letter from my communities HOA about a few dry spots on my lawn.  What is wrong with these people.  Now if I started throwing trash out there or junk cars I could understand but I am 66 years old, have multiple serious health issues and we are supposed to be staying at home.  The letter was harsh and bordered on threatening.  I will never feel the same about my neighborhood again.  I texted the HOA president and let her know that my lawn guy would be back soon attending to the lawn and let her know I didn't under the current circumstances appreciate the harshness of the letter or considering it was my first notification.  It is like business as usual even if it isn't.

It's definitely not fair. It's unbelievable to make such a fuss about a couple of dry spots in your lawn. Have you considered green paint? That might do the trick.

I feel I've walked a mile in your shoes because we were told we had a derelict car when it was a truck that was parked up next to the garage and had a door that was replaced because of a wreck. We used it because it was fully functional. We were told we had to remove it or else. So we did, but I don't like these people anymore. I'm getting out of here as soon as humanly possible. Who needs such snobbery and low tolerance?  :angry7:

Sounds like somebody in your neighborhood has too much time on their hands now that they are stuck inside to point out your lawn. paint it pink - that would show them.

Wow, how petty! I can't believe people have the time or interest to complain about such a small thing, especially during a time like this! And even if the HOA felt that they HAD to send a letter, they could have been polite and kind about it! About 15 years ago, a group of people in our neighborhood came around door to door and asked if we would sign a petition to start an HOA for our neighborhood. We told them thanks but no thanks. It'd be fine if it would keep junk cars and trash off of homeowners' lawns, but I think it's mostly to rail against petty stuff like dry lawn spots! LSS - Our neighborhood did NOT end up with an HOA and it's looking fine anyway!  :peace:

Our neighbors lit off about 6 fireworks last night and scared my poor lionhead rabbit.
Luckily,Ted's okay...but if they make him die of fright,I'm not gonna be nice towards them.
It's illegal to light fireworks.
People are being idiots because they have too much time on their hands.

I'm glad I don't have a HOA.  If they sent me that I'd say kiss my a$$.

I thought everyone was on lock down.  Some people have nothing better to do.

I can't believe in this time someone complained about something so stupid and your HOA was stupid enough to send a letter.  I could understand if it was a major eyesour, but dry spots really??

That is how it is when you live in an area with a home owner association. I would never buy property under these conditions.  If I own the property as long as I am not violating city ordinances it is none of any one's business what I do.

Or else ... what?  Legally I don't think they can do anything.

I would take a picture of your lawn and photoshop the dry spots out, then send it to them. It would be interesting to see if they actually get off their chairs to come and see for themselves.

Seriously, that’s a great idea.
