Gosh I just don't know anymore what is real what isn't and what we should do or not do.  I like you have issues that can cause me to become ill and I don't want to go there -  well I guess we shall have to take it day by day.

I really think the government should make a vaccine or cure available FIRST and then talk about getting things going again. Just because we've been hiding away, doesn't mean the virus has given up and is no longer a threat! Would you go swimming again if a killer shark was on the loose and it hadn't been caught yet? Yup, looks okay everybody, back in the water! yeah, I didn't think so. We need a virus cure, not silly talk.

A vaccine?  We don't even have a vaccine for the flu... we don't have a vaccine for AIDS... we don't have a vaccine for SARS & yet we still manage to go out & live life & deal with it.   A vaccine or "cure" needs to be tested for at least a year to see if there are side effects including death... you can't really think people are going to stay inside for over a year?

If you're high risk or are scared, just continue to stay inside & social distance.

There are no "cures" for a virus. It's not a living thing you can just kill with some drugs. For the most part, a virus just has to run it course, and your body needs to develop antibodies to get rid of it. You have supportive care to try to keep it from getting out of control, but generally, your own immune system is the only "cure".

I didn't know there were so many "doctors" on this forum! I'm not drawing a government check, I'm not trying to control anyone (don't know where that idea came from). I'm just trying to say that attempting to go back to the way we were living is not a good idea right now since there isn't any medical way to combat the virus. I'm not accusing any of you of being thoughtless or uncaring, I'd appreciate the same consideration. Hopefully things get better soon!

My news last night had a map of the country showing how long they think each state is going to have to keep social distancing, my state was one of the longest suggesting we stay like this until June. I don't know how feasible that would be...

Our state has had the stay at home since March 17th and is in effect until April 30th and really think that our governor is going to extend it as the death toll is raising along with new cases.  Yesterday he shut down all schools for the remainder of the year.  I just want it to warm up so I can at least sit on deck and enjoy the outdoors.

I think social distancing is going to be our new norm for awhile, until they find a vaccine. States have different stay at home orders in place so it will be hard to open everything back up at one time; and then there is the issue of people who live in one state but work in another which is very much the case in our area of the DMV; so I just think we will be in the waiting stage for a  much longer time. I go outside for walks, but wear a mask.

I got a job so I am working and sometimes wear a mask or scarf.  Need to work.  This is scary, invisible.  Not like a hurricane.  You can't see it.

Hello! :) :D

I hear the new last day of social distancing is set for May 15, have you heard that too? I certainly hope so I miss having my daily walks outside. Nonetheless even if we are able to go back to school and work how long until we get back to our normal fully? For me I still will have to be careful as I get sick easily. What are your honest thouths about the world wide isolation do you think the Government is over reacting and we all need to go back to work? I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

You are not allowed to walk outside? You must be in a state that is a lot stricter than mine. We can basically go any where that is open.  It is suppose to be only essentials that are open but more than that it.  I don't know what to think.  YES we need to get back to work.  But all the people drawing unemployment are making more sitting at home than when they worked with the extra $600 a week so why would they want to work?  Most are making way more money not working.

Things are going to have to open back up.  People are going to lose everything they have. Smaller businesses and even bigger ones are not going to open. They are just closed. :(

This is here to stay.  They already said it will be back in the fall and every year and a new strain like the flu.  Then they say it won't leave before the fall.  SO you can hole up in your home til we all die or we can get out and live life.  I don't think things will ever be like they use to. People are always going to be all stay out of my space, don't breathe near me, and if you cough in public you have to have this virus.  smh

Hiya! :) :D

What I mean is we are a allowed to go out for essential things and like Parks. However the order is Stay home as much as possible. As I'm in New York the hot spot for the virus. Ya I guess every state have there own special dates. We shall see ya. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

Yes they do.  What do you think the "flu shot" all these idiots flock to is?  It is a vaccine.

Aids should not even be linked in with these.  You don't get Aids by breathing next to someone who has it.  I agree we can't all stay inside for the next year.  People have got to work.  Well some of us any way.  I honestly think it is just fear mongering and it has worked.  You still can't get anything at our local Walmart.  And I heard last night (confirmed by a manager who works there) that half the store has taken a leave of absence. So now they do not even have enough people to run the store.

Fear mongering?  You have got to be kidding!  This virus is highly contagious and there is no identified, targeted, effective treatment nor a vaccine.  People who are both healthy and with underlying conditions have died from it.  One person is supposed to be able to infect another 9 or 10 so it is an exponential infection rate which can take off easily.  It is much more infectious than ebola, for example.  It is seriously infecting prisons and nursing homes and the homeless and disabled population.  It's no joke and certainly not about "fear mongering." It is something to be taken seriously. As of today, 4/19, it has been 50 days since the first case in the U.S. and we now have 39,000 plus deaths.

The flu "vaccine" is a joke. The flu shot gives modest protection on what the scientists think will be the strain of the flu that will be going around that season, it constantly mutates & is just a best guess, guessing game vaccine    It's not a permanent solution & people still die in large amounts due to the flu every year... best results are people who get the flu shot return to work 1/2 day sooner than those who don't get the shot. Personally, the Flu shot makes me sick.

Hopefully Covid-19 will mutate to harmlessness when the weather gets hotter, supposedly that is what happened with SARS

It's not affecting the homeless in Los Angeles, 33 cases out of over 58,000 homeless living on the street, not wearing masks, not social distancing, and definitely not practicing personal hygiene.

It's not going through prisons like one would be expecting it to either, at least here in California. It appears to be a non-issue.

It is definitely a problem in nursing homes, seems to be going through them like wildfire once they get in there. Very sad indeed.

Some places might be able to open in mid May but not everywhere. The state I am in isnt suppose to peak til the beginning of May so I don't think we will be able to open up by mid May. But it would be nice if this virus was gone and we could get back to normal, at least til fall.
