People's ignorance coming through loud and clear. Didn't help when Trump called the corona virus the Chinese virus.  Made it so much worse.

lol.  People trying to blame this on Trump is hilarious. Just shows how pathetically sad they are.  A lot of people are calling it the "chineese virus".  Not just because it started there but there is a lot of speculation that it was man made BY them.  I am curious as to why people did not get so bent out of shape when the WEST NILE virus which started there was called the WEST NILE virus.  Of course we are living in the candy butt land of the offended now.

I remember a strain of the flu in late 60s called the "Hong Cong"flu.

Anyway, just a reminder what the bible says Acts 10:34.....

New International Version
Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism

There was the Hong Kong flu, Asian flu, Spanish flu and others such as SARS (H1-N1), ad infinitum. There have been so many epidemics and pandemics before but we've never responded in the manner that we do now. I have a feeling that there is more there than meets the eye. That's my conspiracy personality coming to the fore.

As for hating the Chinese, that's not fair. You can intensely dislike the Chinese government who perpetrates these heinous acts of absolute hatred towards the United States and its people, especially sending us their Wuhan virus by not taking care of things at home before they went worldwide.  :angry7:

But don't hate the people. They are not at fault. Their government doesn't give them the right to choose.

Besides, we're supposed to love our enemies, you know. God said so. :angel11: That may take me a while.

I agree there is way more to this.  I read something on Yahoo this morning about why they did not shut down everything with those other viruses.  The explanation basically was those others were not as contagious. But when you have a family of 5 and one is positive and nobody else in the household gets sick it makes me question how contagious it really is.

It happens and not just Chinese people anymore any Asians outside would be slandered just for walking out to get mail.

It is not just asians.  And THEY are just as big of a bigot toward white people or black people.  There have been many reports lately about how the chineese people are bigotting against black people.  There have been several stories lately about how they refused service to black people.  So basically what goes around comes around.  Lot of people in these forums seem to love that phrase or call it karma.  It is sad at how divided the whole world is.  Everybody seems to be hating everyone else for what ever reason...the color of your skin, if you "think" the person is sick because heaven forbid they cough or sneeze in public, what they purchase when they are in the stores, how many times you think you see them leave home, and on and on.

Sadly so many of these widespread instances  of hatred have a birth place in propaganda spread by inadequate administrations. Our health system and ability to handle epidemics/pandemics was woefully inadequate so the inadequacy is transferred to a different country/nationality. Muslims and Islamic people were persecuted as a result of propaganda spread around nine eleven. Expulsion of Jews from parts of Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi were ordered by Ulysses Grant during the American Civil War. Other groups were/are treated less humanely as a result of their skin color or sex: Blacks, Hispanics, Women. America has placed Japanese and Mexican individuals in internment camps. Italian, Polish and Irish people were looked down upon as inferior. It is even evident in many of the posts that one sees here, on Fusion cash, as people speak poorly of Mexicans.
A

I have never in my lifetime seen the hate that has happened against everyone as there has been since this administration took over.

Then you have had your head in the sand.  Because obama is who divided this country.  The hate and division started with him and by him and his administration.

The Chinese government absolutely and without question should have some sort of blowback sanctions after this is all cleared up - even if it is as simple as the U.S. taking back all of the industries we have outsourced to China for cheaper labor which would negatively affect their economy and stranglehold over us. Individual people of Chinese descent should not be victimized as a result of COVID. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to do one without instances of the other happening collaterally.

I think it is important that both factors be emphasized by the Administration: punish the communist government, but don't take it out on their innocent subjects. It will no doubt be spun as a racist policy, but I say screw the media in their biased spin-doctoring. We cannot allow the Chinese government to get away with unleashing this on the rest of the world simply out of fear of upsetting a few misguided ostriches with their heads in the sand.

Tresbn00, I agree with you 100 percent.  Right now this is a sad state of affairs, let's hope and pray it gets better soon.

These people are ignorant racist morons.  On the other hand the Chinese Government, (Not Chinese people) is a stinking rat-snake and the trillion or so the US owes China should be waived.     :turkey:

Yes, I see the rise in hate crime towards the Chinese is rising. They are blaming them for the coronavirus. It is really not the Chinese people fault. It is really the fault of the U.S. government as they waited way too late to stop the spread of the virus into the U.S. It is now too late since the virus is already in the country. It way take awhile for for things to go back to normal again. Ignorant people really need to stop blaming the entire Chinese population for the coronavirus. Not every Chinese people are infected with the virus as it is not their fault.

No they didn't.  Trump tried to close the boarders as soon as we got word of this.  There was an airliner coming in that was to have people with this virus on it.  Trump told them NO they cannot come in to the US.  Stay where they are.  He was ignored and they flew them in any way.  You are right about ignorant people and looking for someone to blame.  I saw something this morning where some scientist thing it was here a long time before we knew it.  Like back in Dec and early Jan when people had all the symptoms of this virus and were testing negative for the flu.  The first case was in middle Jan.  So who is to say these people in early Jan did not have it and they just did not know what it was yet.

I don't hate Chinese people but I probably won't be eating their food for a long while until this thing is straightened out. Most of the merchandise in dollar tree is made in china.

I'm no expert on the subject as I don't eat it myself anyway, but I would kind of think American-made Chinese food would be as safe these days as it ever was, as I doubt most of its ingredients actually come all the way from China? We have vegetables, chicken etc. here too for much cheaper than importing. And even if they do get, idk, spices or something from China, don't they say the virus only lives on surfaces for up to a few days (longer than it takes to receive something shipped from there)?  I get wanting to be safe rather than sorry but I bet it would probably be ok.

I'm in a group chat with some old friends and one of them (but I wouldn't be surprised if there were more) started to express hatred for Chinese people. I believe it is through the cessation of this ignorance will this hatred stop (reasonably) but feelings will always get in the way...

People are so ignorant.  What is wrong with their thought processes?  So sad that someone so innocent could be attacked in such a way.  I don't know what to say except I wish people could realize how ignorant they are.
