My county recorded our first COVID19 case yesterday.
« on: March 23, 2020, 09:14:59 am »
I knew it was only time. We were being surrounded by counties who had a few cases. It's impossible to buy meat here. People are hoarding. One cashier told me that as soon as they put meat out, it's like vultures descending on a dead animal. They grab it all. I haven't seen this. Not many people in the store when I go because everything's gone by that time.. All I want is 10 lb. of hamburger! That's my monthly order and I can't get any! I wish I could get hubby up for the senior hours but then the stores would probably not have the meats out by then. I've tried calling to find out when deliveries are made and when I could get my burger, but they must have taken the phone off the hook (don't blame them) and can't get through.   :(

The stores need to regulate how many meat products one person can buy... yeah, I know there are workarounds, ie multiple family members, etc... but at least they can slow it down.

Pretty soon we'll have ration books for essentials like they did in the war.

Hopefully people are using this opportunity to diet & lose some weight, not only for their own health, but obesity & diabetes are an added risk for more serious symptoms with the Chinese Virus.

My county has also reported its first case.  The guy had recently visited Greece.  He has a school age child, so who knows if it could have been spread to other children who took it home to their parents. Very scary.  We haven't been to the store in a couple of weeks. Stay distanced !!!

We had our first case in our county about a week ago, but I haven't heard much since then about our area having it

We can hardly get anything around here. Everyone is hoarding things here as well.

As of today, April 2, I believe there are over 9,000 cases in my state.  I have not looked up the number of cases in my county yet this morning.  I am curious on the one hand but almost don't want to know on the other.  However, I will be researching it within the next several hours for sure!

Ask the clerks when they stock the meat and then try to be there early because it's gone before noon.  You may try to get it delivered if you have a service like that.  My sister had groceries delivered and she said the items were really nice and fresh.

We don't have any confirmed cases in my county (in Minnesota) but there are a few in neighboring counties.

I have just been ordering EVERYTHING on line, groceries, prescriptions etc.  I have been able to get everything we need and it comes right to my front door.
