Vocalist Kenny Rogers, who dominated the pop and country charts in the 1970s and 1980s with a string of sleekly tailored hits and won three Grammys, has died. He was 81. Rogers “passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family,” a representative for the singer said in a statement. Due to the national COVID-19 emergency, the family is planning a small private service at this time with a public memorial planned for a later date.

I heard about about his death this morning and was saddened as the Gambler is one of my favorite songs.

Even when I was young I thought he was so attractive and liked his music.  RIP Kenny and enjoy heaven.    Peace and comfort to your fans family and friends.

R.I.P.  I was saddened to hear this.  I loved to watch him and Dolly when they were together joking around and they sounded so great when they sang together too.

Love Kenny Rogers. I was listening to an NPR news clip yesterday and they mentioned his death in the report. The news report noted that he had such popular hits as The Gambler and his duet with Dolly Parton Islands in the Sun.

WHAT?!?  Islands in the Sun? Now I remember why I stopped listening to NPR for news.

He was a favorite of mine.  SEems like a lot of notable people are passing.  I feel it  because they are all near my own age

Sorry to hear that KR had passed.I know from seeing recent photos of him he had looked like he aged and slowed down.

He made 81 at least.

Good performer and artist.
