P.S. Lest someone should think I am against free speech I am not however I think in a forum like this there isn't any need or cause to be rude to other members and it isn't stifling someone's free speech if you block them it just means I don't have to read their rudeness.

Amen to that.

You know in all the years I have been a member here I have blocked only two members that I can think of - the 2nd was today.  I just don't get why people have to be rude towards others.  If you don't like what someone posts move on don't say rude stuff.  I just don't get it but I don't have to see it either.  As my granny used to say if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all.  Do you agree or do you think people should post whatever they want no matter how rude.
I am in full agreement with you. As far as I am concerned, life is too short to ignore the ignore button.  ( A little play on words ).

There were a few times where I have seriously considered leaving the forum. I have grown quite tired of the senselessness that goes on.

In answer to the rest of your question, no, I do not believe that people should be allowed to post whatever rudeness they please.

I guess they never really paid attention to:
This thread is THE final say in everything and anything related to the usage of the FusionCash forum. Since following the rules for some is a harder task than what it should be, I am going to break down all the rules for you.

1. Observe the golden rule -- Treat others as you would like to be treated

This one is pretty obvious. This means NO flaming, NO derogatory remarks to other members or staff. I know it is an online forum, but behind everyone's screen name is a real human with real feelings. So please respect everyone, even if you do not agree with them, or get along with them.

People still fail to realize that opinions are just that.

I have disagreed with people here on FC on certain subjects, but I ultimately move on after saying what I need to say. We each think differently and there's no need to try and change people's views. I think some people can't cope with that and revert back to elementary prodding to annoy.

An online forum on a survey site should not be that serious.  :peace:
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

Hi! :D :)

I don't get why people have to be rude? We are all here for the same thing to reach the 30 post and collect the $3. If you are not interested in the thread move on until you find one that interest you ya. It is very simple! :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

Exactly! We are all here for a reason so there's no reason to be rude unnecessarily.  :peace:

A couple of members were rude to me on here, too.

I'm sorry to hear that. You always start fun, new threads that I really enjoy! Please, don't let ignorant anonymous people discourage you, BUBBLEGUMBEN10.  :)  :star:

Debate is interesting. If one cannot think well enough to debate, then they attack. I have not seen an intelligent debate between candidates for a long time.

That being said, it's akin to swearing when you can't think of anything better to say to vent your feelings. Being nasty to someone else can make one feel superior, I suppose.

I've tried to start issues on FC that I hope will spark discussion without rancor or bitterness. We all learn from each other no matter how smart or dumb we may seem at first.  :highfive:

Well said, nickylanena. You wouldn't think anything on Facebook would provoke hatred either, but it always seems to be that way for some people.  :confused1:

The thing that rubs me the wrong way is when certain members act like the only reason they respond to a thread is to:

Criticize the topic: If you don't like it, no one's forcing you to read it.

Complain it's in the wrong forum area:Does it really make any difference at this point?

Complain there are already topics like it made: So what? I wanna make my own topic, whats it to you? You're not the boss of me.

Google JediJohnnie and May the Force be with you!

Exactly!!! I've noticed 1 member doing all of the aforementioned. I completely agree with you on all points! When responding to someone you don't just have to disagree or criticize! Also, if you do comment on someone's post just to criticize them you should be fully aware that they may issue a response that you may not like. Some people criticize and get offended when you respond back to their criticism and it blows my mind.   ???:angry7:

I think some people just like to stir up discourse.  Negativity seems to hover over them.  I have ignored a few people on here that only seems to post rude comments.  I can see that they have commented on some of my posts but since I have chosen to ignore them and don't see them, their posts do not bother me.

This is what I've done.  Ignored, don't see her posts and so her posts don't bother me.  There has always been this one person and she's miserable.  I don't like to be around negative people.

I look at it this way - we each have the ability to choose what to read or not, who to ignore or not, whether to react or not. There are a lot of things people say and do online that I do not agree with or particularly like, and some of that is hurtful or inappropriate or just plain nasty. I usually choose to not react. In other forums I often see the admonition "Don't feed the trolls!" I think that is more of the Golden Rule of Internet forums - even more than:
1. Observe the golden rule -- Treat others as you would like to be treated

There is another online forum I frequent regularly that is devoted to Cedar Point, one of my warm weather passions. Lots of good people there talking about all sorts of great things. But many are very opinionated and get into ridiculous flame wars. More than a few are complete and total jerks just looking for a fight to prove that they think they are smarter. The admin is very active and very intelligent, but he is also very sarcastic and opinionated and berates almost anybody that he does not agree with. Recently he has permanently banned users who have referred at the COVID-19 virus as Wuhan or Chinese because he considers that to be racist speech and against the rules. (In fairness, there have been others banned there who truly deserve it).

The admin is a dictator and gets pissy with anyone who challenges him. I generally just choose to not react to him and wade through his unreasonable posts to try to find the objective and informative stuff that filters through his keyboard. There still is a good bit of worthwhile information I get that way that I would miss if I ignored him outright.
