Finally made a long overdue grocery run and it feels good to have some options again! Going to make broccoli and pork tonight.

I just put two bison roasts on to cook.  We'll have kale and green beans from the garden, and when the roast is almost done, I'll add some potatoes, apples, turnips, carrots, broccoli, and canned mushrooms to cook in the roast juice.  We'll probably toast some low carb bread in the oven to go with it!

I really like jerky but have always been afraid to make it. The easiest steak to practice with is ribeye and strip steak, aka New York. They have a thin edge, they are soft on their own, and will turn out delicious even if you miss the roast a bit. If you're not quite sure of your own skills, or if you're learning to fry, just make a careful notch in the side of the steak. You can control the degree of doneness through the cut. But this is a double-edged sword: the cut will leak the precious meat juice that is so highly prized in a steak. A beef steak, even if it is already taken off the fire and placed on a plate, is still roasting. This is something to keep in mind.

For me last night was chicken sausage with mashed potato and corn bites. The chicken sausage was a bit dry.

I am making potato soup, had some dental work done today, so I have to do something fairly soft.  Luckily it will only be around 90 today so that will not seem bad to have a soup day.

I purchased some fried rice with veggies.  I added some small pieces of chicken to it. I looked for my orange sauce to make it better, but could not find it.
