Wow, that must have been a trip! I have no problems with other people having opinions on what they will and will not buy based on ethics, but I am of the generation that you should mind your own business. If I really felt the need to say something to someone who might not be in the know about this poisoning and fine thing, I would probably just make copies of the article about it and just politely hand it to people that I saw buying the product in question. Definitely no need for being upset and yelling! But the man who gave you the info on the eggs sounded like he was very calm and respectful, as we should be to everyone.  :peace:

Thankfully that hasn't happened to me.  I would appreciate the egg recall guy telling me the eggs had been recalled, definitely though.

Nestle has never been an ethically company, I remember when they were giving Women in Africa their powdered milk for babies, but then their own milk would dry up & then they became reliant on the powdered milk & then have to pay for it. I don't know if they still do this, as it was decades ago, but I still remember.

I try to do my own due diligence on products & really don't need people virtue signaling to me in the store -- enough already.   I would buy Nestle's water if they were on sale, for sure.

No, that has never happened to me.  You have to wonder why they are hating an item.  My suggestion, don't buy the item.

Never had this happened and it is really none of business what people buy.  It is their money to do what they want.  If someone asked my opinion on a product and knew something about I would offer an answer

I wouldn't pay much attention to someone who started screaming and yelling at me to put a product back but I would listen to someone who calmly tells me why I should not buy something. I would just think the former type of person to be some kind of a crazy person.

I do not really pay too much attention to any body who tells me I do not need to buy a product because of their beliefs of why a company is bad.  I know a lot of people boycotted Nike a while back.  It is your choice to support Nike or not.  But I certainly don't think anybody should confront some random person in a store and tell them they should not buy from them because they hate America.  smh  This person did not come up and start screaming at me.  She was loud.  And very passionate about what she was saying though.  She did not tell me to put it back but did discourage me from making the purchase by telling me how horrible Nestle is.  But the thing is all the big companies are the same.

That would make me more mad than someone verbally telling me something. For the most part I really don't care.  Unless it is something that could hurt me.  Like the recall thing.  I would never tell somebody I did not know not to buy a product because I disagree with something the company does.  Heck, I don't agree with the CEOs of most big companies. lol

They actually aren't.  Like I said, the CEO said if you cannot afford to pay for clean drinking water then you do not deserve to have it.  But Nestle makes a lot of stuff.  Not just water.  And all of the companies are basically the same.  You do not get to be a huge multi-billion dollar company by being ethical and the nice guy.  Just not how it works in this cut throat world we live in.

If it is so harmful, then why is the store selling it. Why do we need some idiot who has way to much time on their hands telling us what to buy and what not too.

It is not harmful.  She is no different that the "idiots" many were on here posting how they were boycotting Nike.  Many probably never bought Nike to start with.  Apparently what she told me was some what true because some one on here was familiar with it. I do not care enough to look it up.  There, in my opinion, are more important things going on in the world right now to worry about.

I honestly don't know if anybody would confront someone in a store for purchasing Nike or not.  I say buy what you want to and support the companies you want to.  Many people are online right now saying no to purchase anything from China.  Well ya better throw out that computer and phone you got in your hands cause if the product itself did not come from there - some of the parts inside did.

Yes I would in a calm informative manner.  I would not act like the woman in your case acted but perhaps her actions came from upsetment over drinking that water.  The egg man approached it in the right way.  Now overall I can't believe how many recalls there are it is really concerning and how products stay on the shelves.   :sad1:
