My 4 year old grandson will literally stay up half the night.  He doesn't take an afternoon nap and plays hard all day.  I know his daddy has slight ADHD and his older brother had ADHD really bad and could not sleep.

Why don't you take her out to the playground or something. Maybe she needs to burn off some energy.

When my were little it was dinner between 5 or 5:30 an hour of TV after dinner than a warm bath or shower as they got older, one story and then lights out.  I usually had all four asleep by 8.  I really think the bath relaxed them

Sounds like you've got it under control now, though, but if you get stuck there are some more avenues to explore. Okay, so now I'm thinking hot chocolate and warm bath before bed. Makes me sleepy just thinking about it.

I'm sure doing lights out and having no cousins around was at least half the battle.

We just set up a routine especially when school started my daughter use to be the same way. We read to her and it usually helps.

8 :00 seems really early to go to bed.  Unless they need to get up at 4 or 5 in the morning.  Kids do not need 10-12 hours of sleep.
