Did you ever ask him why?  Did you ever tell him you loved him when he was a young child?  Did you ever kiss him when he was a young child?  If you did not, then something is wrong with him not you.

You can look at it this way, at least he is able to express himself in some manner than not at all. You have to take the good and bad with everything and be grateful for any complement.

I wonder if he tells his wife or girlfriend he loves them in person or he only send it in a text.  If it's only you, that sounds strange to me.
