"Related Topics"

How many of you after reading through a particular thread click on one or more of the "related topics" listing at the bottom of the page? Usually these are topics where the thread title is very similar. Sometimes the new thread and the 'related thread' have absolutely nothing to do with each other, but there is a common word in the titles that somehow flagged the relation. (I always find those ironic when they are not a related discussion at all!) Almost always the 'related topics' are several years old or more and have been closed to new posts long ago.


I don't do this very often, but on occasion... It is always interesting to see the topics that were exactly the same and just rehashed. It is also interesting to see some of the current long-time members/posters who voiced opinions previously - or to see some users who used to be very active in the forums and have since disappeared.

I always look at the 'related topics' at the bottom of the page.  Sometimes I read through them.

I never click on the related topics at the bottom on a page that I have gone to.  I just look at the page that I researched only.

I do every now and then.  Looking for some more to read and comment on.  Or even to make sure that I am not repeating myself.

i have never thought about that ! i usually just do my post and move on maybe i should take some time and read some and see what you are talking about ! sounds fun

I have done it a couple of times, but usually do not have time to look at.  It is funny when sometimes you see the same person put the same topic up yearly of every few months.

I have never clicked on those, usually they are locked subjects anyways.

I have done that a few times.  Some of those posts go back several years or more.  I've opened a few of those threads to see if I recognize the members.  For the most part I don't.  Many of those members are no longer around.

I have read the related topics from time but not very often.

I have a handful of times but I haven't lately. It is definitely something interesting to do if you are coming to these threads for reading and not just for posting.

My time in the forum is probably spent at about 85-90% reading and 10-15% posting - so I would agree with your point.
