The best laundry detergent?
« on: October 14, 2009, 06:41:08 pm »
I have been looking for the best laundry detergent. I want my clothes to smell really good. So does anyone have any suggestions? Should I use the liquid fabric softner as well as the sheets or what is the secret to having your clothes smell sooo good??

Do you smoke???? That might have something to do with it. My boyfriend's sister uses something and I do not know what it is. But it smells so good and there clothes always smell good.

If I was you I would think of using all different kind of soaps untill you get a smell you want.  It will also let you know what you do not like. I would reccommend mixing them.

:wave:You can spray your  things with a floral scent spray they sell. They come in all sorts of scents. I like the vanilla bean, because it makes my sheets smell like cookies!!!!

I like Tide and you can get it in some different fragrances. We can also add some baking soda to the wash to help with smells!!

Purex is good. And I love Suavitel Liquid Fabric Softener, the fragrance lasts for a long time. They are both inexpensive. For really fresh smelling clothes sometimes my Mom would add lemon juice or white vinegar to the rinse cycle.

I usually try to find environmentally friendly detergent. Almost everything going down the drain here, winds up in the ocean.

Purex is good and inexpensive but it is not suitable for my babies skin it cause irritation so their pediatrician advised me to change to All (Free & Clear) and it work great with their sensetive skin as it doesn't contain any perfume or dye

I use Tide detergent and Downy fabric softener. Both in Lavender scent and you can't tell from our fabric that we smoke in this house.

what ever my wife likes - and what gets the cloths clean - any product you choose will work - but are the chemicals good for you and the cloths - remember you do have to ware the cloths and the cloths do have trace element left in them - now that everyone is "going green" - is it good for the planet - Health, Happiness, Peace, and Positive Perspective - IMHO >> In My Humble Opinion - The MUSEUM, Zazzle

I like Tide with Bleach and recently I used an off brand fabric softener from family dollar and our clothes smelled better than the name brand. Also, I like to put a fresh fabric softener sheet in the drawer with my clothes.

thanks for all the replies..and for the record I DONT smoke. I just have 3 small kids and so from all the dirt and food on thier clothes they just don't smell appealing. they don't stink but i want a fresh nice clean smell. and i have 2 that are going threw potty training so that gets in the mix. So Im not sure what to do. I will try mixing as one person has said and see if that helps. and i will start using the liquid and sheets for fabric softner
