Presents for Pets?
« on: November 11, 2019, 04:14:56 am »
I have a cat named Tinker that I spend about $50 on for his birthday and also for Christmas. I go on Chewy.com and have a blast picking out toys for him. I've always gotten presents for my pets, but I'm really spoiling this cat, probably because I'm in my late 50s (grandmother age).

Does anyone else here spend a lot on their pets for birthdays and Christmas?  If so, what kind of stuff do you get them?

When our Tommy was still with us, we would celebrate his birthday (gifts & dinner) and he would always have presents under our tree at Christmas.  He was a very big part of our family.  We still miss him very much.  He was cremated and has a prominent place on our mantle.
Have a wonderful day!

I don't have pets so I don't spend $ on them. If I were to get a pet though, probably would just spend $ on normal items, though perhaps "dress them up" during the Holidays.

My Husband is forever buying our two Dogs Toys every time we go into a Store and they carry them. I get a little aggravated with him sometimes, but not too often.

I don't spend extra money on pets for the holidays.  I think its ridiculous.  They get the left overs after dinner.  I really don't think that I had an animal that cared about getting something other than food and water. Not to mention that my family is more into doing something for the holidays more than gift giving.

Since all my pets are rescue, I don't know their birthdays, but we have 'get days', actually it's one of my dogs get days today.  For the dogs we go to a special dog store and get a cake for them.  Before people write, it's not a human cake, it's specially made for dogs.  For the cats on their get days they get a toy.  For Christmas all pets get something.  it's easier for dogs, they can  get a treat, a bone a toy, but the cats it's harder.  Last year we got a few toys and a l
large condo they can all enjoy.

I do sometimes. I figure it is your money and if you want to spend it on your pets that is fine.

I think that is a fun idea & although I don't do it, because my cat doesn't eat or need anything special -- I wish he did would love to celebrate his birthday & "getting" anniversary.  I do buy my cat a Christmas gift -- either a new furry blanket to sleep on or a plush towel for his ottoman.  Once I tried to buy him a santa hat for christmas, but he wasn't having it.  Pets... <3

I buy treats for my dog every couple weeks. I bought a variety of toys for her when we first adopted her, but she would never touch any of them, so I gave them all away. She has her one teddy bear that she came with, and I guess that's all she wants.

My cat won't eat treats and rarely plays with toys. She likes her balled up piece of aluminum foil more than any store-bought toys I gave her. I've also bought her a couple different comfy beds, but she prefers a cardboard box with an old towel in it.  ::)

Unfortunately, I do not have any pets; but if I ever get one it would be a dog; love them and yes I would buy presents; not go overboard, holidays and birthday would be celebrated.

My goldfish, Gordy and Wilbur, don't really grasp the concept of gift giving, but I might buy them a larger aquarium this year.  My parrot, Emmett, is afraid of new toys. Basically, my husband and I are his favorite playthings.
