The trial is to be started this month and will address two charges: Abuse of presidential power and obstructing congress by refusing to cooperate with the congressional inquiry. I believe that the president is guilty of both but will not be removed from office.
The problem faced by Democrats here is that neither of these are actual impeachable offenses - they are
made up descriptions of two categories of actions that
every single President in the HISTORY of the United States was 'guilty' of in one form or another.
The precedent being set is extremely dangerous. This lays the groundwork for every President from now until forever to be impeached by a Congress with an opposing party majority, simply because they do not like the opposing party President and/or are butt hurt that their candidate lost the prior election. When a future Republican Congress tries the same approach to impeach a future Democrat President, I cannot wait to see/hear the venomous hypocritical vitriol spewed forth by the media and the liberals. But they will justify it with the same old and tired double standard bullshit that they use today.
