John 4:24 New International Version
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."

You dont need a good luck charm IOW to worship

Again something that originated with pagan gods.Quit touching the unclean thing says Jehovah.Again read John 4:24

You may believe what you feel you need to believe, and by all means preach what you feel you need to preach... but for the second time around (we had this conversation a good while ago when you went by the name of hitch) a crucifix is not a good luck charm and your characterization of it in that way is both demeaning and insulting.

Whoever wrote the song,I dont care if it rains or freezes,as long as i have my plastic Jesus on the dashboard of my car.

Looking for divine intervention from a piece of plastic?

Make the sign of the cross a zillion times looking for divine intervention to hit the lottery or hit a HR in baseball.

Wake up!!You dont need a metal or piece of plastic to please God.

RU familiar with scripture in Isaiah where man gets a piece of wood and starts a fire, cooks by it and keeps warm....then takes that same piece of wood and carves a god out of it and bows down to it.

Quite insulting to the TRUE God Jehovah.God told Moses no man can see me and live.Makes sense if he could create this  universe what must he look like?

I promise you that I am quite awake and am not looking for any divine intervention from any pieces of plastic. (I also play neither the lottery nor baseball).

You dont listen.I told you id rather witness to a deaf, dumb and blind person. You only fit dumb...LOL!!

Hey Drutts, here are a few scriptures you may have forgotten about:

Colossians 4:6
Let your words always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should answer each person.

1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Christ as Lord in your hearts, always ready to make a defense before everyone who demands of you a reason for the hope you have, but doing so with a mild temper and deep respect.

Titus 3:2
...to speak injuriously of no one, not to be quarrelsome, but to be reasonable, displaying all mildness toward all men.

Ephesians 4:31
Put away from yourselves every kind of malicious bitterness, anger, wrath, screaming, and abusive speech, as well as everything injurious.

Ephesians 4:29
Let a rotten word not come out of your mouth, but only what is good for building up as the need may be, to impart what is beneficial to the hearers.

Not at all - I just am not pleased with the way you belittle an important aspect of my Christian faith life.

Have u heard of Pudge Rodriguez catcher for baseball?Perfect example him using his metals and making sign of cross.

Sure, I have seen many athletes outwardly express their faith through the sign of the cross or similar gestures. I've never known one who did it as a good luck or superstitious exercise, but I suppose that is possible. The actions of other people, regardless of their motivation, do not make my crucifix a good luck charm.
Look u don t like explanations from bible anyway.
I don't like explanations from the bible where parts are either taken out of context or that add no obvious context to the subject at hand being discussed.

I do not worship the cross. I do not worship statues. Wearing the cross does not equal worshipping the cross as an idol; therefore, the scriptural verses you keep falling back on have absolutely no bearing on the cross that is around my neck right now and will continue to be around my neck every single day of my life until (God willing) I make it back home - when and where I very well hope to see you and all of your counterparts enjoying our final reward together.

I didn't write the bible, so yes. Feel free to read and ponder though.

You know nothing about me and you certainly know very little about the Catholic church or how I or the Catholic church feel about the Bible. I never told you, er I mean, Hitch, to back off about using it to explain things. I simply said (or meant) that the piecemeal way that you quote it- in many instances without explaining how it specifically supports your position- makes for a difficult interpretation and virtually impossible to understand your logic.

I did then (and I still do now) want to understand your position; but gosh darn it I don't want to be attacked or belittled by someone who clearly has no intention to understand my position.

Jesus did say to love our enemies....but he also has righteous anger in situations.

He scolded the Pharissees for their beliefs. He scolded those that turned the temple into a flea market.

Remember he got executed as a sinless man.The world will hate you on my account he told his followers.

There's a difference between anger and insults.

I was brought up catholic  and when i dispute something like the cross it was what i was taught that supported bible and Gods organization.I always try to reference bible. Now i also realize that some still might not agree.

I also think i am a kind person.I have been attacked unfairly here.Am i human?Of course i am.There are some that dont care for my authoritive ways, but thats brought on cos i was attacked too.

I promise you that when you were Catholic, you were never taught to "worship" the cross or any other "idols". Now that very well may be what you and many others perceive of the Catholic church or are mistakenly taught about the Catholic church and its practices.

“There are not one hundred people in the United States who hate The Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they wrongly perceive the Catholic Church to be.” -- Fulton J. Sheen
