Yes, I remember when it came in cans. We still buy the squeeze bottles pretty regularly. My daughter uses it to make chocolate milk often. I am not able to tell that there is any difference in the taste from old cans to new plastic.

I also remember getting Hi-C in a big can. I loved the cherry flavor best. Then they started putting it in plastic jugs, and it did not taste as good. I don't think food should ever be stored in plastic.

I recall this as well. I think the flavor there HAS changed from can to plastic storage. But it could just be my misperception.

I do remember Hershey syrup in a can, but it has been a long time since I have seen the can.  Now you only see it in the plastic bottle.

My Mom used Hershey syrup in the can to make brownies.  We also poured it over ice cream for a "sundae".

Now I'm going to have to look for that recipe and bake up a batch of those brownies for "old time sake"....and a trip down memory lane.

Checked out my local Ralphs/Krogers... where I swear I had recently seen them, & they aren't there.  Guess that means they have been discontinued -- fairly recently probably, I'll have to do an internet search... end of the Hershey in a can era.

I remember my mom used to get these in bunches when i was younger so she put use to top ice cream. If you look today you could probably find really old cans sold on ebay or etsy

Oh yeah remember those cans very well and loved using the  syrup out of them. does seem as if they product is a little different. The cans  seemed to be a lot  thicket then the plastic bottles. I  use the bottles but  not as much as I did the cans. Living out on a ranch/farm 97 miles  from the nearest big grocery story I bought it  a case at a time, hoping it would last me 6 months. Just our small family it would but when it come to cooking for 12 hired hands at times it didn't last.

Personally, I think it tastes different now.  It's like soda.  My dh and ds swear Mountain Dew tastes different in the cans.

I remember the powdered chocolate in cans but not the syrup. I used to eat the powdered kind by the spoonfuls.
