I got rid of my landline  here  a long time ago, they were so expensive. So I  now  have 2  cell phones, 1 for hubby  and a smart phone for me. He doesn't want a  smart phone, I love mine.  And my internet is  local .  But they are  putting in optic lines and I will go nit when it gets to us. The cell phones are consumer cellular and cheap with on problems getting anyone.

I have a Landline with VOIPO and only pay $180 every two years (so it's about $7.00 a month) and I have a Panasonic phone system that distributes four handsets around the house so I never have to worry about whether my cell phone is charged (or if I can find it). It comes with an amazing set of features that cover everything I would ever need including free long distance anywhere in the U.S. or Canada and inexpensive rates anywhere else.

that sounds like a very good deal. Where did you find this deal?

I got rid of my landline a long time ago. They were all sales calls and got very annoying.

We have AT&T because of a discount we get from work (Warner Bros) that includes our cell phones and our landline.  So far the service has been fine.

I haven't had a landline in almost two years now.  I was with CenturyLink for internet and phone and I was going to be gone for about three months because I was having surgery, so I decided I didn't want to pay for something I wasn't using.

We have a landline but only for incoming calls otherwise we are charged to make calls with the exception of 911 calls. We have kids just in case schools call.

I don't remember, but I just renewed my account for another two years for about the fifth time. You can get more details from Google if you search for it.

A lot of comments here say they hate landlines because they get too many telemarketers, but it's simple enough to block them with most phone companies. With mine I just copy and paste the number from call history into the blacklist.

I pay $7 a month for unlimited USA and Canada calls, is that too much for service that is at my fingertips every moment and never needs the battery charged or gets lost?
