swear words

I try not to swear a lot, but some times the words just fly out of my mouth,when i stop myself,i use words like fricken,son of a puppy dog,shoot,holy cow.

I say 'son of a biscuit' a lot. So this thread has me thinking, what's the difference if you use the real swear word or the replacement word if the intention is the same? All words are basically made up, so why are some of them "bad" to say? What's the difference if I say frick or fork or the real f-word, if they all mean the same thing?

Yea swearing or not has nothing to do with intelligence or vocabulary and I use swear words that I wish I could break the habit of using and the "swear jar" doesn't work LOL for anything but saving money for vacation.  Sometimes I use "fudge" in place of a way worse swear word but mostly I just swear now that my kids are grown

I do swear sometimes but I think using an alternative is just as bad since  your thoughts are the same

Sometimes I slip up and the swear word comes out. I'm guilty. But my husband is 100 times worse than I am and I do fuss when he swears a lot.

I usually words similar to the one I’m saying - I try to not swear at all.

I say flipping all the time instead of the other f word. It just turned into a habit. No reason to say anything else.

i hate cursing i dont think it is due to  lack of vocabulary either

I do not swear at all. I have to live with a Husband and Grown Children who swear in just regular Conversation. I always get on to them and I tell them that it is a Sin. They tell me that it is no where in the Bible, but it is. They think that it is all just made up words by Man. I tell them that they are so uneducated, but they ignore me. I tell them not to swear around me and bring evil spirits in my Home.

There really isn't a difference.  I guess the difference is it supposedly sounds better.  "Frick" does not sound a lot better than the F word.  And nobody is going to say FORK when they get mad.  I guess it is better to learn to control your temper and not say anything.  Or if you get hurt just say Grrrr.  lol

Like I said there is a kid at church who says "dang it" constantly.  I have told him to not say it and he said it is not a bad word.  Then we go through the whole "can I say dang it" NO, you cannot.  I don't care what you do at home but in my SS class you are not going to say it.  Pretty sure his dad would not approve either.

Okay. So today I said "Jeezo, Creezo, Meezo" in frustration.

What do you think of that? Is it totally acceptable, sort of out of line or wildly unacceptable?

Hmm well im not a saint, if someone cuts me off in traffic well things, are said not suitable for all ages. BUt then again no one can really hear me because I dont say it loud enough so not going to feel bad over that
