Door Dash

It seems as if doordash delivery fees went up. I ordered 3 items over $9.99, the delivery fee was $5.99! I then decided to go pick it up. Geezzz.

Those delivery fees will get you in the wallet and sometimes it's not worth it.

That sucks! I hope you were able to cancel the order and get your money back, etc.

If I was a person with money to burn, I'd probably use Door Dash once in a while, as I do prefer eating in. But my husband is such a good chef that I would rather eat his food for the most part. Also, it's not any big deal for me to get in my car and go pick food up and bring it home. My youngest son (20) usually goes with me and we have a really good time catching up on our week in the car. And given that my husband and I are pretty cheap, LOL, we probably won't be doing Door Dash anytime soon.

That's the reason I don't use delivery services at all. The fees are just outrageous!

Door Dash isn't the only delivery service that has lost their minds when the prices increase on everything.  SMH.

I think DoorDash was losing drivers.  That's why they decided to create a new pay model.  As the middleman between people buying and paying drivers they weren't able and willing to decrease their own costs so people ordering food have to pay more. 

I delivered one order for DoorDash and my pay was $6.50 so I decided it wasn't really worth it to pay for gas and vehicle maintenance.

I've never used a delivery service of any kind as I am not about to pay for something that I can get myself. In the summer I don't mnd getting it at all and in the winter it's usually just a minor inconvenience. If I had some kind of emergency or medical condition, I would use it tempoarily, I suppose.

My oldest daughter tried registering and delivering a few orders too.  Her rationale was to make a little extra money for the start of school (she has a daughter) and the holidays.  She also decided it wasn't worth the gas and vehicle maintenance costs.  She did it twice, I believe, and hasn't done it again!

I noticed the Door Dash sign at a new pizza restaurant that opened up a little ways from us.  It would cost more than the meal to have it delivered.

I don't really get why people have food delivered so often. Do you like paying extra for cold food? Not me. I'd rather go out to eat.

I think you did the right thing. $5.99 for delivery is way too much for that order you placed. I think all companies would be doing a lot better if they just offered free shipping and raised their prices a little to take care of the shipping. There must be some kind of a deal they could strike with UPS or Fedex or whatever.

i have never used those services  before bc i was afraid they would be too expensive i guess so!
