An Idea on How to Keep Blockbuster Video in Business Physically

If Blockbuster Video were now a place to hang out at and watch movies and TV shows or play video games whether alone or with others, would you go there? If not, explain why.

I would go.  That's an interesting idea.  I love watching movies and if there was a community to do it I would.  I also was a bid fan growing up of the physical rent dvd places like blockbuster.

Adding to that concept, they should have a loyalty card where if you spend  enough money you get a code to redeem a digital movie. Or something to that effect.

There's only one Blockbuster left in the whole world. I don't think they'd re-open any of them just so a few people could get together and watch a movie. That's what movie theaters are for.

I do miss going to the store and browsing the shelves, but not at Blockbuster. I returned a movie a couple days late once, and they sent me a threatening letter if I didn't pay immediately. I had planned to pay the late fee the next time I rented something. It wasn't an exorbitant amount, less than $10. But since they were so ridiculous about it, I went in, paid the fee and never went back.

I was talking about having a less limited number of choices for movies and TV series. You can’t choose what to screen in a movie theater if you don’t work there.

I would not. I am able to get all of the entertainment that I need from my phone (first), Computer (second) and television (third). I barely have enough time in a month to watch one movie and going to a brick and mortar location would rob me of that valuable time. I am the same way with everything but produce. I still need to go into a physical store in order to pick which vegetables and fruit best suit my needs and will, most likely, always need to do that because my taste in produce changes constantly. Sometimes I like an avocado that is riper or a younger, harder pear. I have been to the mall once in the last three years to drop off a watch (to be repaired) that I did not trust sending in the mail and I needed to drop off a few Amazon Prime items that did not fit.

If people can spend tax money on DVDs than why can't people figure out how to rent them and make money? I agree.  I had something similar happen where a company threatened me stating they already had a warrant in hand.  They did not but it made him feel good to threaten me.  Anyway, he was wrong and several people in the company told him he was wrong.  Oh well.  He got his power trip. lol

I assume you dropped the movie off in a drop box?  Looks like they could have just sent you a letter or invoice stating you owe a late return fee and IF you ignored that take further smart mouthed action.  Being an A is not a way to get people to respond to you though.

People who "work" in a theater have NO say in what movies are shown.  Or anything else.  They just work there.  The manager or owner makes those decisions.

Not sure what "people using tax money to buy DVDs" even means?  Are you upset about how people spend their tax refund?  Except welfare people who get unearned income checks are not getting money back.  You don't get BACK what you do not pay in.  But that is beside the point.

As far as random people buying DVDs and renting them I think that is against the law.  It says it is for HOME VIEWING only when the credits come up on the screen at the beginning of the movie.

I think they already have something similar to this.  It is called Coffee Houses.  And I don't think it went over all that well.  I guess if you really wanted to see a movie and it was free at a movie rental place some people might go.  I would rather purchase it at Walmart and have it as mine and watch it at home.
