Moving
« on: September 30, 2019, 08:39:20 pm »
Daughter's father sold the house and I have to move now.  I have 30 days but kind of stressful as I've lived here 22 years.  Accumulated so much stuff and getting rid of it all is stressing.  Can't wait till it's all over.  At 69, I don't really look forward to moving.

You really have a massive job on your hands.  We never realize how much we have until we get ready to move.

Perhaps having a yard sale might help to at least help you get rid of some things you really don't need or want, moving is always stressful even when we can plan for it and not on a time table; hopefully things will work out and you will be able to get it done and settled into a new place; then take a nice rest! Good Luck.

When me and my daughter moved from a country home to the city, we had so much to pack up, it wasn't funny, I had boxes in every room.

worst feeling is moving other than pain or death if youve lived at a place for so long. Just happened to me in march. you could do a storage company to store most of your stuff. I have one now that I pay rent eery mth. Accumulated too much stuff too. had to move from my apartment as landlord's daughter taking my unit. Couldnot get antha apartment within 90 days so had to move in with a relative. But youre best bet is a local storage facility to stoee your belongingd till you figure where you will live.

Moving is pure hell when you are the one who has to pack up all the things you have accumulated over the years.  Good luck.

So sorry that you have to go through this stressful process.  Try creating a moving to do list where you can list disconnection dates for utilities, dropping off your cable box and what date you need to have your mail forward to your new address also pack one room at a time and don't forget to label your boxes so you know what rooms you need to place them in. Good luck to you!

Relocating is a hassle but it will be the beginning of a new chapter for you.  You can downsize so you're able to decide what your priorities are - where your material possessions are concerned.
Have a great day!

I'm one year older than yourself and know that after living somewhere that long and at that age, this must be a difficult project.  It is hard not only physically but also emotionally. If you have any family or friends or have the money for a professional mover, use your resources.  However, I also know that sorting through all the things you accumulate over so many years can probably only be done by yourself! And then to top it off, to only have 30 days to complete such a task.  I am sorry!
